Awesome homemade pasta and espresso, genuine Italian style. The salmon is super tasty. A bit off the main area, which is good.

My husband, a friend, and I walked in on a Wed around 6:30 pm. The place wasn't full, but was set up for a large group. We were told we could have a table for an hour since we were walk ins. Not caring to linger over dinner since it was just pizza, we took the table. The waitress was... More

Spent a evening with friends in the restaurant. Staff was very unfriendly and not professional at all. Food was served with great delay. Food quality was terrible.

We were made welcome in this lively place. Menu was full of choice both pizza and salad fresh and tasty. Plenty of seating and excellent service, I would return.

Located in a small quiet street not far from Rosenthaler Platz, Papa pane is a pearl hidden from a big world but just amazing! I just love the pizzas in Papa Pane! Last time I tried pasta too and it was fantastic - it was home made tagliatelle al tartufo estivo with some incredible sauce... Mmmm Definitely recommend this place!

We have high standards when it comes to wood-fired oven pizza as we grew up with the famous American Flatbread just down the road. We were impressed with both pizza and service - high quality ingredients, diverse menu and they don't skimp on the toppings, nice thick crust and the service is very quick despite the whole restaurant being packed... Lovely meal, amazing Pizza, great choice of toppings and detailed menu (in German/Italian.) Slight issue with language - wasn't entirely sure whether to try to speak German, Italian or English. My girlfriend had something in her pizza resembling a piece of glass. Had this caused damage we would surely have complained however luckily she was fine.

There is nothing like authentic neopolitan style pizza to revive your health after partying in the Mitte and sightseeing for a few days. With solid reviews, we decided to give this place a try. Exceeded our expectations by far. The octopus in spicy tomato sauce sounded like a good place to start, shared between us... it was huge and tasted... More

I was in town for the Marathon and I had to load on carbs; i decided to have the Orecchiette and the Pizza. I was surprised to find such a good italian food far from our own country. The hospitality and the warm atmoshpere reminded me of the noisy italian trattoria/pizzeria; the service is like in italy friendly and nice.... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
