Came here a number of times and find that the service gets slower everytime. The staff needs to adjust their rude attitude - otherwise the great cocktails and food will no longer be able to make up for it. Take the hint guys!

I was there on a Friday evening with friends. I enjoyed the evening, despite little of Cuba's memories came back. Maybe my expectations were just too high. The place was nice, but the atmosphere wasn't high enough, as music was just slight in background to hear (which I usually find ok for talking, but considering that in Cuba you have... More

We stopped in for dinner before the rush. Service was attentive, but we were the only ones there. I'm not sure how I feel about the wait staff smoking in the presence of dinners. We ordered some cocktails and tostones. Based on these we had the impression that the meals themselves would be great. Simply put...they were not. The massa... More

The place looked nice from outside. It was around 8.30pm and the place was empty. We sat outside and the table was a bit dirty which is never a good sign since it's easier to clean a table than a kitchen. The 40 something waiter seemed nice. We ordered a bottle of wine and a plate of nachos. The bottle... More

The place is a Cuban restaurant in Prenzlauer Berg. You would better go to one of the restaurants around it or go to OranieburgerStr. Cuban restaurant for good Cuban food. Service here is quite slow, we had to wait for at least 5 minutes every time we called the waiter. We were warned food will take a little longer but... More

Let me start by saying, I can't believe this restaurant doesn't have better reviews! My husband and I were recently in Berlin and found this little spot for dinner one night. My husband is Bolivian and we live in Asia, so any chance for Central or South American food, we go for it! We absolutely loved the food and the... More

We stumbled upon La Bodeguite Del Medio after having had dinner at Massai-Berlin and went in for a couple of drinks. The place was empty on a sunday night so we got some time to talk to the proprietor, who is a quirky personality but does he ever know his rum! We found if very entertaining (some might not have)... On our last night in Berlin we had dinner in La Bodeguita del Medio. We first shared chicarrones pork belly and patatas bravas (made with real potatoes), then had pulled pork with rice and beef stew with moros y cristianos rice. After our main course our nice American waiter asked if we could change table, so they could seat a... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
