Great local beer and typical German fare which is usually appreciated by out of town guests. A little difficult to find many healthy options but that is not what you go to this restaurant for. Gets busy and a little noisy and you have to make sure to reserve most nights. This place is walking distance from the train station.... More

Good service and broad menu. Loved the broashut soup and pork knuckle. Dessert with fried apple and ice cream was excellent

The Braustübl has a great selection of very tasty beer and a nice food selection (typical German, but also e.g. Flammkuchen). The quality is stable since years. You most probably need a reservation. The beer taste set is a nice way to taste different types of beer.

Very good evening in what I imagine a typical German restaurant with good beer (a wide selection of homemade ones) and good food. Had a braised beef which was excellent (see photo)

Visited the Braustub'l with some colleagues twice last week as this is centrally located near to the train station. The food – standard German schnitzels – was OK though nothing special; the service was at best poor. Not that is was very busy; the servants simply did not pay attention. Nor did they help to get a taxi; I had... More

You can't see much from the street but inside it's multi-leveled, fairly big and surprisingly cozy on a winter night. Service is efficient (they have lots of tables to cover) and always starts in German, but if you ask, most servers can switch to English to help you out. Menu is in German and English. The food is solid versions... More

If you're ever in the area and have an appetite, try it... lots of hearty and meaty dishes that would be to one's liking. And local brewed beer to choose from!

I went there for a business lunch with customers. They offer local food with meat, cheese, potatoes. On top of that they serve locally brewed beers. The service was quick, friendly and attentive. Prices were absolutely ok. Actually I would give 3.5 points for a local lunch or dinner.

The Braustub'l is a quite typical German restaurant of Darmstadt, located near the railway station. It's big and usually crowded, venue of events and of simple dinners among friends. You can eat typical German dishes, among all the Schweines-Axe, with a good choice of beers. It's for sure worth of a visit.

A place doing their own beer, which is rather good, and solid German food with large portions and slightly above average taste. I quite liked the beergarden style ambiance and did not mind the efficient, rather curt style of the service personnel. On suitable occasions, I'll happily return to get my German fill in food & drinks.
