Don't go here if you want to have a nice evening. The staff is so unpolite it can ruin your entire visit to Cologne. The menu states that you can request after allergies. Upon ordering, your wishes seem to be taken into account although the...More

We came here since my wife had dined here many years ago and still remembered. We were not disappointed. Both the haxe and the schnitzel we had were made to perfection and the service was, swift, kind and with a smile. The portions are huge,...More

I would give it four and a half stars. The atmosphere and service is outstanding and friendly. The food is very very good. I highly recommend the pork durac though a little bit pricey. I don’t eat spetzle or potatoes so they will serve with...More

Dropped by during our first night in Cologne. We were walking through the centre of Cologne trying to get out bearings when we came across the Weinhaus Brungs. Lovely building and you must go inside if only to see the detailed wood carvings. Food was...More

We had Pork with spaetzle, and the Asian chicken for lunch here and the food was delicious. The place was built over 500 years ago after the old Roman city wall and gate were demolished in the area. But the dining room in the cellar...More

Pretty good. I took the advice of previous visitors and had asparagus soup to start. Very good, very rich and buttery. Had a pork knuckle afterwards and it was very good I must admit. Service was a little lacking and there was an incident with...More

Asparagus season so we had the asparagus soup, which was great & the ham & asparagus plate, the ham was delicious. Salmon was good. Loved the Kolsch beer (although small so. For dessert, the dark chocolate mousse was wonderful. Ambience & wait staff both welcoming.

We found this by accident and a happy accident it turned out to be! As the weather was great we sat outside, but the inside is also very nice with an interesting ancient cellar! The food was very good and the menu offered something for...More

Description
The Weinhaus Brungs has a palpable sense of history. The vaulted basement has remains of the Roman town wall. There are sculptured figures of the pope and emperor in alcoves watching over the locals and tourists as they dine. The home cooking goes down well with a glass Kölsch or any glass of good quality wine. The staff are attentive serving a middle-class clientele who enjoy the delicious food. The restaurant is accommodated in an historic merchant's house which provides a cosy setting with antiques, pointed arches and wood panelling.
