Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We called ahead for a reservation and we were seated in the Wild Kaiser section by a window. Very nice decor and ambience. We each had the Leek Cream Soup, one person had a crispy duck leg with potatoes and the other had fish with...couscous. Dessert was a warm chocolate tart and a homemade berry sorbet. Everything was perfect and the waiter was awesome and provided wonderful service. We had arrived by taxi and he even called a taxi and brought the driver to the table when he arrived.More

There are actually 2 different restaurants, even if they basically serve the same meals. You can choose between the LAURENTIUS STUBE in a more typical and rustical atmosphere, or you can pick the more "uptight" scenario, which would be the WILDER KAISER. The least one...seems more quiet/classy. For larger groups the LAURENTIUS STUBE might be better, but it is quite loud/noisy too in my opinion. Nevertheless the food was really good /tasty. Our waiter was absolutely caring and professionnal, nothing to complain about.... except the parking situation... Their private parking is quickly full (and very tight!). You should take some walking distance into account . Good to know for people who might not be so good on their feet...More

We live in Trier and go here often. The wine list is top and the food is always good. The chanterelles were on the seasonal menu on our last visit and they were super tasty. The service is good and the bathrooms are luxurious. They...also have baby chairs and seem tolerant to children.More

Very nice, clean, well run hotel. Would recommend eating in both restaurants. Beware portions are huge. A starter is the size of a main course. Breakfast is well worth it. A little further out of town than anticipated but bus stop right out side the...front. Vegan and veggie friendly. Even had the beyond burger.More

A good place to stay if you want to be a little way outside the city centre. 15mins by bus from directly outside the hotel with helpful instructions from hotel staff. It is a good well established local hotel. Breakfast was superb, room comfortable and...good staff. We did not try the swimming pool or sauna. Slight disappointment on arrival, ca 8.30pm as there was very little choice for any food. Only a small selection of grilled meat and salad. It was very fresh and well presented though. But for the type of hotel would expect at least some bar type food. A good place and would recommend for a taste of a traditional german hotelMore

For a weekend getaway in Trier we were looking for a nice restaurant with good food for the birthday celebration of my partner. Since we didn‘t find many restaurants to our liking we decided to give it a shot, after reading both positive as well...as negative comments for this restaurant. The pictures and the exterior, as well as the huge menu with all sorts of food were a bit concerning since usually these type of restaurants don‘t serve high quality food. But we worried for nothing, this restaurant is a gem in Trier! The service was great, the food was great, the portions were huge so good price for the quality in food you get, we will definitely come here again! We had the rabbit ravioli as a starter - delicious and a huge portion! Usually you get maybe 4-5 pieces of ravioli, we had about 8-10 pieces in a delicious and buttery sauce. As a main dish we had Züricher Geschnetzeltes - juicy pieces of meat, creamy sauce and fresh mushrooms served with yummy Rösti! We also had the veal chop with superb mashed potatoes.. both dishes were huge portions, so much that even though I love desserts I wasn‘t able to order one because I was so full. I can definitely recommend this place!More

Good food, excellent Rinderroulade and Schweinesteak durchwachsen cooked to perfection, nice Tirol feel decor. I ordered "zwei gross leitungswasse" the waitress bought 1 large carafe of water and two glasses, we were thirsty so had a second. Surprised when they appeared on the bill as...2 x alkoholfrei at total cost of 10 EUR. We also had two half bottles of Riesling which only came to 15 EUR. Waitress assured me this was the correct charge for leitungswasse. Spoke to reception at Hotel to confirm and they said there was a "special filter" on the leitungswasse and we had "tapassawasse". I know Germans hate serving leitnungswasse but being charged 10 EUR was a new one for me. Even checked the tap water in the Hotel room and still can't tell the difference. Don't mind paying for good food and service and am used to sneaky add-ons like cover charges, unordered bread etc but do feel we should have been better informed of our inadvertent expensive water selection so we tipped accordingly.More

This restaurant has a very long standing tradition and reputation for steaks, and rightfully so. Wine list pretty comprehensive and impressive, however, red wines are overpriced.

We had a two night stay in the hotel. During our visit we had dinner both nights at the hotel and the breakfast buffet each morning. Everything was fantastic! Highly recommend both the restaurant and hotel!

This was asparagus season and they were very good, but also the steak, chicken, dessert and Snaps were excellent, specially considering the favourable quality/price ratio. The menu vary along the year to serve seasonal products, a reason to come back !

we went here for the first time and were positively surprised. we did not have a reserved table, but they find us a nice table. The service was excellent and very professional. we had the Cordon bleu, which was both very good and a big...portion. I can only recommend this place and we will surely go back to test more of their food.More

We have booked a table for four and requested a quiet area, as we wanted to chat. The place was in the "Wilder Kaiser" restaurant in a quiet corner. So the place was already perfectly choosen. We ordered different dishes, some from the regional cuisine,...and each was perfectly served. The dishes were plentiful and each with great taste. Also the suggested local red wine pleased us. Next time we will try the barbecue. It looked quite promissing.More

We chose this restaurant based on TripAdvisor reviews. We were on a brief vacation to Germany before attending a business meeting in a small town in the north west part of the country. We had an excellent meal. Service was very good and the atmosphere...was pleasant and relatively quiet. My husband had the spaetzle which was excellent. It was a little salty for his taste but what can you expect in a dish with ham? I had the pork chops and they were well cooked and very tasty. We both started with soup-- he had potato and I had tomato. Both were excellent. Entree helpings were large and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and type of establishment. We would recommend this restaurant.More
