After walking the Christmas Markets all day and then attending a concert in the Frauenkirche we wanted a restaurant within a very short walking distance and lucked out by selecting the Augustiner. We already like the restaurant even before we seen the menu .It's relaxed,welcoming...More
The atmosphere of this restaurant is really relaxed and given large spaces, the place is really worthy to sit outside and enjoy the sun. The restaurant does a really good pork knuckle and schnitzel. Great for lunch and beers under the sun - weather permitting*...More

Good is good here, however service is like extremely slow, lunch at least 2hrs.... so do not be in a rush while visiting, several customers left while waiting for service or when they learned the waiting time.

Hearty German fare, definitely not gourmet. Servings were generous Large bread or potato dumplings with every main dish. Filling but rather tasteless. Everything was too salty, especially the liver dumpling soup. Restaurants in the old days used salt to make guests thirsty. This restaurant keeps...More
