I had a large sashimi which wasn't large and was fresh but not very interesting, and a tempura moriawase which was disappointing as the oil in which it was fried was old and a little nasty. I would have rated it two but the service was lovely. Very expensive for what was set on the table.

Good and kind service, good japanese food (even Leipzig is not a traditional place for this kind of food) and cozy restaurant inside the Hotel. A great experience.

It was worth the walk through the lobby, it's not huge so if it's busy might be tough to get a table, menu not huge but try the set menus. Having your food cooked I front of you always a good thing.

I am third generation Japanese American who grew up in Hawaii and have eaten in restaurants in many regions of Japan. This restaurant is unlike any Japanese restaurant that I have experienced. The hijiki appetizer was swimming in sauce; it tasted like it came out of a can. The yakitori chicken was mealy, coated in bottled sauce. The salad was... More

Overall the evening was excellent. We made reservations for 4 a day in advance and were seated in a private table for four around a grill. The restaurant is located in the Leipzig Westin on the ground floor. We were 2 couples and ordered a menu (there were several to choose from), which included soup, salad, Sushi, appetizers, entrée, rice... More

Ordered sashimi large. 20 euros. A bit on the expensive side. But then it's a restaurant inside a four star hotel Westin, what do you expect? Sashimi came with quality cut of salmon, tuna, raw shrimp, raw squid, milk fish etc. Worth a visit if you want a good Asian meal.

This is a top class Japanese Restaurant, don't miss out to have a dinner made in front of you on a Teppanyaki Grill.

We appreciated very much the quality of the Japanese food. On the other hand we did not like the cold welcome by the German waitress. We had to wait long for her to come and welcome us at the door, which was awkward. She was almost disappointing us to be there. We insisted, set and had a real good meal...

Restaurant Yamato is located inside the luxury hotel Westin near the railway station in Leipzig. They advertised the Teppanyaki dinner in the local newspaper. Because we had some reason for celebration, we decided to try the Chef´s recommendation dinner with 5 courses. The price is not the cheapest I have to admit. But having visited Japan several times, I must say... More
