We had dinner at this restaurant on our first night in Cordoba. They have outdoor seating. A nice courtyard in front of the Hotel Hospes Palacio del Bailio. Staff were warm, pleasant, and efficient. Menus were handed out when we sat. Wait staff came over...soon after to take our beverage orders. Warm bread and olive oil were served while waiting for our wine. They have a nice selection of wines. We chose a bottle of reasonably priced local wine. Our starter was a green salad - crisp, fresh, and tasty. Mains were Iberico pork cheeks and a suckling pig. Both were tender, juicy, and simply delicious. The sucking pig skin was crispy and tender. We shared a gorgonzola cheesecake. Wow, definitely not the usual cheesecake. Service was outstanding. Staff were attentive- cleared dishes as necessary and topped up wine/water glasses. A wonderful dinner, indeed.More

A lovely courtyard setting, but on the whole a disappointment. The wait staff did their best to be helpful despite inexperience, resulting in uneven service. The starters were good. However, one of the two mains arrived barely warm and questionably the hake described on the...menu. The waiter happily agreed to return it to the kitchen and when it arrived back at the table it was even colder and slapped onto the plate. The server apologized, saying he had no control, and even offered a substitute, but by this time my companion had finished so I ate what I could. It might have been tasty if served properly. If they are looking for a Michelin star, it would be a disservice to potential diners and should be removed from the suggested list.More

Didn’t live up to expectations. We were staying here and thought we would eat here the first night after a long stressful trip. Starters were good but mains disappointed. Both were pretty tasteless. Also we thought we would be eating in the dining room but...were seated in the ‘goldfish bowl’ above the Roman ruins. Lovely for breakfast but a bid echoey box in the evening. Far from romantic. Turned out to be the most expensive meal we had during our trip to Andalusia - and that included a Michelin starred restaurant in Granada.More

The wine was good, the appetizer was good the risotto with mushrooms was awesome but there’s a potential for a great ambience that is missing. In the corner of the dining room there are these two trees of light bulbs that are so blinding they...give you a headache after some time. If those can be turned off and nice candles put on the tables to let the ambience come from the floor beneath you that is lit up with Roman ruins. That would be so much better! It could be so Romantic if it were darker in here and the floor below was the highlight.More

We had both lunch and dinner here. Lunch comprised of flat breads with various toppings. Bread was stodgy and top ingredients tasted dry. Slow and inattentive service, with no-one asking re the food quality. An evening meal was a tale of two halves, my started...of baby lettuce was very pleasant, my husband’s very tasteless. Equally I found my main dish of baby lamb tasty, again his dish of suckling pork fairly insipid. Service was slow but friendly. Lovely location, hopefully kitchen will pay attention.More

I am shocked to see this is a Michelin restaurant. Perhaps management and staffing has changed since that designation. Service was unbelievably slow and indifferent. The waiter kept calling me “lady” which was unnecessary and annoying. Nobody refilled glasses or checked on how we were...doing. My pasta was lukewarm and something I could have had for half the price elsewhere. Nothing special. My daughter and husband had dishes that said they had mussels and barely any mussels were in either dish. Basically waited around about 45 minutes for an average meal that cost $100 euros for three with one salad and three main dishes. We drank water. Don’t waste your money.More

Our dinner was somewhat spoiled by the two horrible bright lights positioned in the corners of the dining room, such a shame. The food itself was very good, but nothing special. We had the avocado salad and the honey glacéd aubergines, both nice. As mains,...the cod stew and the slow cooked lamb. Again, both nice, but by no means memorable. By booking the restaurant through The Fork app we got 30% off, which made the meal reasonably priced. Friendly, but spotty serviceMore

Exceptional taste menu. The food was exquisite and beautifully presented. Price was good according to the quality of the food. Great atmosphere with flamenco music. The only improvement point is that there were some small flies around our drinks.More

Great food (haute cuisine Spanish), exceptional good value for money, only improvement point was the location inside; the breakfast area (above a Roman ruin) was much nicer than the diner area

Lovely little bar where we enjoyed aperitifs with other travellers. Conversation dominated by coronavirus growing risk. Taken to table at our leisure and attended by excellent staff. Pleasant and determined to provide the best dining experience. Selection of 3 olive oils were a rare treat...for us butter eating north Europeans! Caprese starter was beautifully presented with 3 tomato varieties included. Our mains were baby goat stuffed with peppers and a garlic shepherd sauce and charcoal veal sirloin, with fresh black truffle horse radish and cep mushrooms cream. We returned to the restaurant for a sumptuous breakfast in the morning. Yummy!More

Superb atmosphere over the vestiges of an ancient Roman house that can be seen through the glass floor. Good food but not all the waitresses are as professional as the restaurant demands. The service is not well organized and they can ask you several times...for the same thing as well as forgetting your table for a long time. Moreover, not all of them have enough knowledge about allergens and intolerances so they do not always take care about it. Luckily, María is a very good professional and since she was in charge of our table, everything was perfect.More

The restaurant Arbequina at the Hospes Palacio del Bailío Hotel in Córdoba is framed in a unique historical setting: the Bailío Palace. It is surrounded by original frescoes in the palace and is over a Roman archaeological site (which literally lies at your feet under...an spectacular glass). The history and the modern restoration of the Bailío Palace already make the visit worthwhile, but in addition you will enjoy a high quality service (both, at the restaurant and visiting the Roman house of the first century guided by hotel staff) fulfilling an extraordinary experience. The hotel restaurant offers its visitors, whether guests or not, an excellent and economical culinary offer: a menu of the day for 21€. Also, at certain times of the year when the weather is good, you can enjoy a choir or live jazz on the terrace. A true gem for all the senses.More

Delicious welcome to Cordoba, we checked in to our hotel and then proceeded to have an amazing meal at this restaurant. Our hotel guide, recommended we try the Ox Tail, which was amazing. Their version of Churros was for dessert and we must say, we...thoroughly enjoyed it. The Octupus appetizer was delicious as well. We enjoyed the atmosphere, dining on over a Roman ruin. We definitely plan another visit before departing. The fresh ingredients and flavors did not disappoint.More
