We stopped here on the recommendation from a local, she said it was the best restaurant in town. What we had there was certainly good. A nice little shrimp tortillita some whole fried anchovies, and a melt-in-your-mouth , so good , tapa of leeks cheese and bacon. Friendly professional staff who wear bow ties. Tile lined bar makes for a... More

Our tour guide Carlos took us to the tapas bar of El Faro - fantastic assortment of the bartenders selections and great beer. A perfect stop after a day of touring Cadiz and Seville.

I had dinner @ Restaurante El Faro de Cadiz (Calle San Felix 15) last night (November 2, 2016). I had ordered the Doradas fixed tempura style. The fish tasted very fishy, that is usually a sign of not very fresh fish. I was too polite to complain about the fish, not being fresh, and requesting another plate of fresh fish.... More

We tried tapas in the bar and they were simply delicious. It was the last day of our trip to Andalusia and I think these were by far the best tapas we've had in our whole trip. We particularly liked the fried shrimp flat cakes. I usually stay away from fried food but this one was really worth trying.

Whenever we come to Cádiz we always eat at El Faro. We have had tapas in the bar and lunch and dinner in the restaurant. The food is always fresh and extremely well prepared, and the service excellent.

Had a great lunch here, old-stlyle professional service, lovely seafood. Probably looked the same a hundred years ago but you can charge your devices at the table! Obviously very popular with locals for special occasions

What a nice treat this beautiful restaurant was. The sangria was refreshing and with a small twist - it had pineapples and pommagranites as well as orange. Wonderful pallea as well.

we visited both the tapas bar and the restaurant. Both were excellent for different reasons. The tapas as well as being excellent quality, is imaginative and the bar has a really good 'buzzy' atmosphere. The reataurant is most definitely fine dining, but it was nice to get away from the hastle & bustle of the tapas bars for one meal.... More

We found the restaurant a bit stuffy, staid and dull - I wish we'd gone to the bar instead. The food was good quality but unexciting. Compared with other restaurants in the city it lacked originality. The service was austere and not particularly welcoming - it all seemed a bit outdated and overly-formal.

El Faro de Cadiz is located in the traditional neighborhood of "La Viña", where Gonzalo Cordoba started with a small bar decorated as a sailor tavern, with nets and fishing stuff, with few wooden benches and tables. The customers came in search of the famous fried fish, called "pescaito frito" daily carried by fishermen of "caleta" beach. His daily concern and desire to excel led him to transform the local expanding and providing modern facilities. Now retired, his spirit of service and commitment to others is part of our principle to keep shining gastronomically Cadiz and we are proud to continue this work. El Faro Cadiz is still committed to the tradition to move forward and offer the best of our sea and our land to our clients.
