Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place came highly recommended to us. I can see why. Service is fast and efficient. Food is amazing and the head waiter provided the entertainment and pomp required to makevit a fantastic evening. 1 less dish would have done us. We had 7 dishes...all 1/2 portions, I'd recommend 1 less if you are not a big eater, we are not.. all the same we ate it and left stuffed full of flavours. You need to book, i am not sure that you can just walk in, but booking is simple via their website.More

Been visiting here for many years and feel compelled to post this. The quality and consistency of the amazing food here is absolutely incredible - the place is authentic in its style and the staff are a joy to deal with. If you get upset...because the place is rammed and people bang into you, think twice!! If you get upset because the patatas bravas is not like ye local chip shop - think twice!! Or if you don’t want to book - don’t bother going!!! However if like we do you appreciate amazing food and wine, love great service and an atmosphere that will have you booking your next stay in the City just to return - book it!! Without doubt not the same price as Macdonalds but an experience you will definitely want to do again. Gabriel has put his heart into this place and Rafa adds the fun. Incredible as always guys - see you all again soon. Scott n JuliaMore

Well, this was a treat! This is a tiny tapas bar opposite the Cervantes Theatre. Booking would be essential. As we travelled from Ireland and were celebrating big 'roundy' birthdays we went all out ordering lots of food. The red tuna tataki was melt in...your mouth, grilled black pudding amazing, roasted peppers stuffed with cod, delicious, meatballs gorgeous, homemade chicken croquettes fab, lamb stew with cous cous also just melted in your mouth, and the grilled swordfish in oyster sauce was also delicious. The mixed salad didn't disappoint either. AMAZING lunch and wonderful entertainment from the hard working staff. Well Done Everyone for a wonderful culinary experience.More

Slightly different selection of tapas dishes; if you want patatas bravas, you’ll be disappointed. But what is on the menu is tasty. Only downsides are being squashed in and the price. The restaurant is small but they have tried to squeeze in as many tables...as possible. I lost count the number of times I was bumped by waiters bustling by me. It is also quite expensive compared to other places, especially the drinks. They also got our bill wrong and had added a dish we hadn’t had. They immediately removed it when we told them so it might have been a genuine mistake but it was a bit suspicious.More

Very disappointed overall. While the food was excellent, the service, lack of space between tables and the high cost made this the worst restaurant we visited in Malaga and not somewhere we would recommend or return to again.

We had a fantastic meal in here. I booked beforehand but only by asking an hour before I intended to visit. The food was great. We started with squid and a tuna dish. Then a wild boar stew followed by duck and apples with cinnamon....I cannot fault any of the food it was lovely. The wine was a bit expensive but again was great quality. Would I visit again? Absolutely. But I would advise that you book, particularly at the busier times of the year.More

Great food - we always visit when we are in Malaga, often in January. Why do they have to spoil a great meal by seating us at a table alongside a door that is always open and with a cold draught. Given the restricted space...and the fact that the kitchen is next door, keeping the door closed is not an option. A few radiant heaters would help. This is the least that should be done.More

Wonderful food, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Recommend the anchovies with guacamole, tataki tuna, pulpo, mushrooms with asparagus and a little tapa of super-light croquetas. We also had a racíon of the mixed salad which was perfect between 2. Good wine choices available as...by the glass or full bottles. Perfect for a casual lunch or dinner.More

Fabulous food and service. We had a couple of dietary restrictions amongst the six of us ie. one being coeliac and another pescatarian, however this didn’t impact on variety of dishes or quality of food. The whole dining experience was wonderful.

We’ve been coming here for several years on trips to Málaga - usually arriving late on a busy Friday evening so we always book now - and just love the atmosphere and the food. Gabriel and the team are always welcoming, busy though they always...are, and we love the buzz. The menu has changed little but doesn’t need to: it’s got all the classics and a wide range so there’s lots of choice, including for vegetarians like me. I usually go for dishes like goats cheese and asparagus quiche, spinach and red berry salad, risotto, salmorejo / porra antequerana, or grilled aubergine artichoke and boletus mushrooms. There’s a much wider choice for Jenny, so we’re both blissfully content and just enjoy the experience. We sometimes wonder about booking elsewhere - and occasionally do - but then get hankerings and keep coming back… And it’s so central too if we’re staying anywhere in the old town.. Highly recommended - but do book: it’s really popular.More

Food was ok. This time the service was very poor. Table was uneven and the waiter had no clue. Tried to remove plates before we were finished. Just all round bad experience which is unusual here. Left early and are somewhere else. The manager didn’t...seem interested either so will not be going back. Try El Pimpi it’s amazing. 🤩More

This restaurant never seems to give up trying to get more money out of you than the prices stated on their menu. On two previous occasions when the bill arrived we were charged for full raciones instead of half. This time (3 nights ago) we...asked for a glass of red wine and a glass of rose. The prices were 4.50 euros approx on their menu. When the manager brought the bill the wine was priced at 6.50 euros a glass with the excuse that the wine we had asked for wasn't available!! What was even more annoying was the fact that it was pointed out to us that the tips weren't included on the bill. I find this offensive. Due to being overcharged for the wine and basically being asked for a tip he was left nothing extra. Will they ever learn? After reading similar reviews and having had the same experiences in the past at this restaurant we won't be back. Its a shame as the food was good but we won't be treated for the naive unsuspecting tourists again.More
