I studied in Granada in 1991 and we would walk to the albaycín every Sunday for lunch at Pepe Lara's. It became an institution. When I married in 1999, I ate there with my ushers before the ceremony. My children often visit my ex's family and so when I had a moment I went back. Old Pepe doesn't work there... More

This is an unpretentious bar restaurant on the C1 bus route. The food suited a lazy sunny day in Grenada. The aubergine and honey Tapas was outstanding and overall an enjoyable experience.

2 for dinner at 10pm, unenthusiastic service. We ordered salad with avocado, the chicken skewers, a house red & a soft drink. Then they bought out a complimentary tuna potato salad tapa, which was nice, if you like tuna. With dinner was the usual bread basket with 8 small pieces. Salad terrible, chicken just OK, as both were incredibly salty... More

My daughter and I have just spent 2 days in Granada with the good fortune of renting in the Albaicin area. A wonderful location for those who are happy to climb steps-all worth the effort for views & atmosphere. At the top of our road, we found Bar Lara which we frequented on 2 occasions. The world including bus trips... More

We had lunch here after visiting The Alhambra. Food was very tasty and they serve in enough quantity. Price was reasonable. The temperature was very high at noon in July and sitting arrangement is outside. Still we enjoyed the food. I also had a drink after dinner the night before and it was great to see local people having dinner... More

This square is a bit out of the way, but is a lovely spot to sit and watch the world go by. The food was good and reasonably priced, and the service excellent.

We stumbled upon this bar in 40 degree August heat. It is in a quieter area of town under canopies. We decided to order 4 plates of raciones (larger plates of tapas) to share. Scrambled eggs with mushroom and prawns. Calamaris. Little 'chorizo - type' sausages. Spanish omelette. All were truly delicious washed down with several cañas (beer) and some... More

We found this to be a remarkably quiet area compared to other areas nearby. A few other restaurants on the plaza but we chose this one twice because of the service and food/price ratio. We recommend the the "traditional plates" from the menu. Minor drawback was the lone server for all the terasse tables. Be prepared for slightly slower but... More

We went to Bar Lara to get away from the crowds around Plaza Nueva where we were staying. We had a relaxed evening with a warm red from the altiplano of Sierra Nevada, to go with local tapas, a main of grilled octopus and a shared cherry cheese cake.

We stayed around the corner and loved this little bar! It's located in a beautiful little quiet plaza. Sangria tasted like red wine and wasn't watered down with Fanta tasting very authentic! Our favourite sangria we have had in Spain. We ordered the croquettes which came in an assortment of different flavours. Each croquette had lots of flavour and was... More
