You get to eat good food and have good views of the Alhambra at the same time. The choices are numerous and range from a simple couscous dish to an excellent steak. A good wine list helps the food go down.

I recently visited Granada and was looking for a restaurant that was different from the typical Spanish cuisine. Located in the Albayzin, with a view of the Alhambra Ruta del Azafran was wonderful. I had the Chicken Couscous and it was exceptional. The sweet ness of the dates and the flavorful broth was excellent. Its an easy walk from downtown.... More

Given its location next to the Darro river with excellent views of the floodlit walls of the Alhambra it turned out to be a surprisingly genuine, good quality restaurant. The food was very tasty, if a little over-salty, and service warm and friendly. It wasn't full but we were glad to have booked ahead as it guaranteed us a table... More

Definitely a gem close to the best night view up of the Alhambra. Food is nice in enough to go with the spectacular setting. I recommend the risotto and the Thai wok. Cristián is adorable as well as the rest of the staff.

Smart restaurant with a pleasant ambiance and of course a superb view. Staff were very friendly and helpful in discussing wine choice. And food was well done with excellent soups in particular.

turned up for dinner without a booking mid-week and was given a decent table with a view up to the Alhambra. Service is efficient and friendly, with a short but solid menu and a reasonable wine list, including many local producers. My lamb chops were excellent, as was the jamon that preceded it. Not particularly cheap, but worth the money.

Delicious dinner. Nice risotto and tuna. Big salads. Nice location and beautiful view. Not the cheapest place though.

It was delightful to sit there and just take in the sights and the passersby, also enjoy the musicians who played along the canal. service was excellent, the food even better. Some favorites on the menu - their gazpacho was delicate, subtle, creamy; the apple and goat cheese millefeuille with sherry reduction was fresh, creative, original; grilled tuna in bittersweet... Coming from the Alhambra we looked for a place to have a late lunch. Ruta del Azafran offered a nice card, friendly service and of course a beautiful lookout on the Alhambra.

We were staying at at a hotel nearby, so it was very convenient to have dinner at Restaurante Ruta del Azafran, located on the flat below the Alhambra. We had a reservation (just made that day) and were seated at a lovely outside table, with a view of the Alhambra. The meal, ambiance, and service were all very good (although... More

Description
At the foot of The Alhambra one can find the restaurant Ruta del Azafran. It is in the
incomparable setting of the Paseo de los Tristes right in the Albaicin, which is perfect
for the traveller that loves to soak up history.
Our kitchen, surrounded by this extraordinary scenery, can be found in the same mix of
cultures alternating between Arab flavors, international foods and the traditional tastes
from Andalucia. It's worth to mention our Tuna Tataki, the Cous-Cous (chicken, lamb
or vegetable), Duck Magret, Moorish Pie and also undoubtedly our homemade desserts.
All of this accompanied by the best local wines, cavas from the Alpujarra mountains
and a special selection of Rioja and Ribera del Duero wines.
The restaurant Ruta del Azafran offers different menus for groups that are carefully put
together by our chef to provide the most exquisite flavors.
All of our meats are Halal and we are ready to accept any request with respect to this.
We have a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Our kitchen professionals who make up a highly qualified team assemble all of the
dishes in the restaurant.
We invite you to visit us: to enjoy the surroundings and taste our exquisite dishes.
