As my title suggests, a little pretentious. We played the little game of "oh, no reservation, let me see", five minutes later, "come this way". An hour later, 5 seated out of 28 seats on the ground floor. OK, I got the message. I expected to be wowed, and I wasn't. An amuse bouche, followed by lovely croquetas de jamon,... More

This restaurant had very helpful staff (as we had to cancel and rebook a week later) and was convenient for the marina. We had an excellent tasting menu and a great selection of wine. We would definitely return. We found them very tolerant of our attempts to speak Spanish, which was not necessary as they could speak english, but we... More

Having visited the sister restaurant in the outskirts of Gijon a few years back where I had what was perhaps the best cochinillo ever my expectations were somewhat elevated. I am happy to say that they were not disappointed as far as the food was concerned. We started with croquetas de jamon and really exquisite callos, perhaps the best I... More

We had a nice night despite the facts that NOBODY spoke a WORD of English in what is, c'mon, the only Michelin starred restaurant of Gijon.... It's a minimum to have one staff member who can speak English. The tasting menu is quite nice, some courses were very good, some more common. One fish was really strongly salted and we... More

We went to Auga to celebrate my brother in law's birthday and really enjoyed the experience. The food was well prepared and very nicely presented on warm (and unique) plates. Given that the restaurant has a Michelin star, I had expected a certain stuffiness, but the staff, though serious and very professional, were approachable and calmly helpful. We were all... More

Always the best choice in Gijón. Great starters, amazing courses and an spectacular wine cellar, but always make room for dessert.

We had a dinner in a hot summer day. Their dishes were modern, but based on the tradition and with very fresh materials. The atmosphere was also modern and cool, but the best thing was the taste. We really enjoyed the seafood there. 'Sopa de queso de cabra' was very interesting and tasty. We will go back there when we... More

Believe me, this is a truly mystic experience. The restaurant is located in the port of Gijón, in a very beautiful building. We were welcomed and sat in a private room with a big window on the sea. The maitre suggested us with very good white wines from ribeira del duero. The food is excellent and you can feel the... More

The Spaniard and I got cheap travel arrangements, him by train from Madrid me by air from London, to Gijon, Asturias on the advisement of one of the Spaniard's friends. After a few, hmmm, hiccups in previous experiences travelling with the Spaniard (Toledo, Segovia...) we agreed that I would select one decent restaurant for lunch or dinner. Being Spanish, he...
