Horrible experience! The waiters show around the lobsters holding them by the feelers or legs and treat them very badly. One guy brought out this huge lobster and just placed a heavy box on him, hurting his head and legs. If you have to cook...the animal, at least respect it until the very end! Very disturbing scenes - we had to leave because this went on and on and on. Awful!More

The food and location are ok for the price-structure. But the owner has come up with something special to get as much money from you as possible. He works with minimum amounts of consumption per person that are much too high. You feel really screwed...up, which can ruin the whole day. If you want to be a victim, go!More

We went to Juan y Andrea for lunch knowing about the hype of the place and willing to pay the minimum consumption. We were welcomed by efficient waiters that are trained to talk clients into buying a big fish to share - which is what...we did. We did not ask for the price ahead - our mistake. But getting the bill and seeing the unbelievable sum of € 537,90 for 4 portions of a mediocre prepared fish with one potatoe side dish, I must say: NO THANKS. This is not how you do it - sorry. I am gutted. We don’t mind to pay a little more when things are great, but this is an absolute rip off. The the view is amazing, but you get this view easily elsewhere on Formentera…More

We have had lunch many times over the last ten years, whilst a little on the pricey side, the experience, setting and food always outweighed the cost. This year, 2023 the whole experience was just awful. We arrived for the second sitting mid - week,...only choice was 1 pm or 4 pm. At 4 pm they crank up the music and it is totally impossible to have a conversation at many of the tables. Not only that, the music is absolutely dreadful nothing pleasant or recognisable, dreadful shouting, tuneless music. Not one decent tune over the entire 2 hours. They are not even playing to an audience, people either trying to have a conversation or it’s mostly tables of people staring at their phones. Great venue if you have run out of conversation with your holiday buddies. There is no respite from the terrible music and there is no atmosphere, nobody is dancing only a few hand waves from a table closest to the water that are probably the only tables that aren’t deafened. The extortionate minimum spend of 120 euros per head including children just adds to the now terrible ambience. I did ask to change tables but any table offered was equally as loud, in the end not all the tables were used and remained empty throughout our sitting also adding to the soul less atmosphere. It’s not even good for people watching! The waiter got our order wrong mainly I suspect was due to not being heard over the noise. The food that did come was average and much inferior to previous years. This is such a shame as we loved incorporating a visit into a boat day, we will never come back. Plenty of other options. A big shame as the setting is still wonderful.More

Very arrogant.Minimum consumption is Euro 120 per person, even for the children. But with that minimum setup you will not get a nice table. In order to get a decent table you are required to spend a minimum of Euro 150 … food was good...but the service beyond what you could expect. Been there before when it was very nice and reasonable but now it is way over the top.More

It is a tourist trap. They dump way too much food just to up-sell. Very pathetic. Service is not included. So you still have to tip the waiter that dumped as much food as possible on your table.

We came for lunch and were seated in a corner with no air and view. We asked for another table, the hostess told us you have to pay for the table. We order a some appetizers who were ok and a watery paella with shelfs,...no fish and taste. We requested a paella with Socarrat, the waiter was so embarrassed by the food and complained about it to the owner told him off. He never got back to our table. We were fully charged by another waitress, who give us a nasty attitude. no apologies! We paid few hundred euros a person. Stay away of this place, i go to Formantera every year and you have better place with amazing view and food. Our skipper was not surprised, apparently all his passenger has the same experience.More

On 10 June 2023 I visited this restaurant with 4 of my friends. Even though the food was tasty, we had bad experience with the service! The waiter who was serving us recommended us that we hire their photographer to take a photo of us,...because they make very nice photos that stays as a nice souvenir after we come back home, so we listen to his advice! The waiter called restaurants photographer after which the photographer chraged us 30 Euro per photo (soft copy) claiming that they will send it to our email the next day because it takes time to edit the photo by some professional softwears, etc. As of today, 15 June we still havent receive any photos and we obviously came back to Croatia the next day and didnt have to chance to go back to the restaurant and ask for the refund! Today I have decided to text to the restaurant and tell them all about it! I was shocked by their reply, they dont give a s... about it, like it is not their problem and like nothing happened! They just said check your spam folder and ignore my other later messages! Like I havent check my spam folder already! Definetely I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, there are so many ither nice restaurants at Formentera island such as La Tortuga restaurant and La Mariterranea restaurant which are also much cheaper while the food equaly tasty!More

Firstly , it must be said that this is a lovely restaurant in the most beautiful of settings. Along with friends I have been here at least once a year for the past 20 years +. All those who are familiar with J&A will concede...that the food and menu is little more than average but the location carries all before it . Service is generally ok too. However , this year they have made the arrogant and suicidal decision to introduce a 250 euro per head minimum spend charge . Ok , they say this is for the front line tables with best views but we were sat in the middle of the dinning area on the sand and it still applied . To be honest you need to be stood up to see the view from anywhere in any event . Once you are sat eating it is irrelevant.. We took our daughter and two friends to celebrate her 16 th birthday . We then discover the minimum spend applies to children too !! Our final bill came to around 650 euros but we were obliged to pay 1250 euros !! Even the staff were embarrassed and most apologetic .Considering the menu and the prices one would have to drink yourself under the table to get anywhere near 250 euros per head .. The conclusion for me is that I have now cancelled two additional bookings I had for later in the summer , 14 covers in total. We will now try somewhere new , plenty of other lovely looking options on the island but what a shame that they feel the need to be so greedy and for such a mediocre offering …More

Outstanding food, atmosphere and service. This is our 3rd time coming to Juan y Andrea in Formentera. You’re sure to get the freshest seafood, outstanding paellas too. We ordered the fish paella, the anchovies, tuna tataki, grilled octopus, grilled shrimp and salt crusted seabass. All...incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. The cheesecake for dessert was also delicious. Good service and atmosphere is quite unique as you dine in a fancy atmosphere with your feet in the sand.More
