I have been living long enough in Tenerife to know that quality and service in this restaurant are far away of it should be.

We were recommended this restaurant by our Canadian host. It was a birthday treat. Should have checked the reviews. The meal was OK but I felt over priced and not very special...we wouldn't return

I was with family on the first floor of The restaurant. Restaurant has a family atmosphere. People who served us were very friendly and they give us a good recommendation with food. The seefood was fresh and meet grilled well. Red wine was much better than on other places where I tried wine and espresso for the end was done... More

Some tables in communal dining area, some tables in private dining rooms arranged on upper floor around central courtyard. Full of locals. Relaxed, unhurried, family friendly, tasty traditional menu.

Very disappointing. The only saving graces are the building and wine we choose, Viñátigo made locally in La Guanch. The food is a poor imitation of what can be found locally at a far better price and made properly. The offerings came with chips (which isn't mentioned on the menu), the local dishes as in papas arrugadas were over done,... More

Now I'm no stranger to eating out in different countries, I speak perfectly good Spanish (I teach it) nor am I one of those demanding types, upset if someone doesn't come to check they're ok every 10 minutes, but I was left quite angry after my experience here. First we were, told to go to the bar, then begrudgingly given... More

I was craving a bocadillo de calamares (a calamari sandwich) and the hotel I was staying at recommended La Hierbita: they did not disappoint! I had to wait a long time for them to get the bread, as they had run out; but they did tell me beforehand and kept me updated the whole time, so I was happy about... More

We made a reservation a day in advance. We showed up at the appointed time, we were seated and given a menu. For the next 25 minutes, no one said anything to us, no drinks were offered, and when we tried to get a waiter's attention, all we get was "momentito". As we walked out half an hour later, a... If you want to visit a restaurant with locals then this is one of them. You hardly hear anything else then Spanish. The food is catered and delicious and service is friendly. But possibly did our waiter internship in the USA because we were still doing our starter when even main dish came to the table. Luckily the starter was... More

This place definitely has its mark on tourists as many will flock to it given its rave reviews and recommendations by many travel publications, but what is true remains disclosed to all before they step into the restaurant. Behind it's historical significance and "cozy" atmosphere lies terrible service, overpriced food and false hope. Below is an accurate review of La... More
