Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

View from tiny restaurant is fabulous. Visited with wife and daughters 10 and 12 yo. Food was fantastic, fresh and tasty. We ordered sea food plater for two persons (Fish, prawns, sprats, mussles), fried squeeds, canarian style potatos. All fresh, tasty and beautifully served. I...can really recommend.More

We have just enjoyed a lovely relaxed and sunny stay at this brilliantly run hotel where everything works seamlessly in the guests favour, so no wonder some 80 pc. of us are returnees…We are all splendidly looked after by a cheerful and friendly staff led...by the delightful and efficient Tiziana Marquez, she doesn’t go the extra mile, she goes the extra TEN miles ! And so do the rest of the staff…In our case, to name but a few..Diana, Gloria, Jonathan, Paola, et all.. Friendliness pervades the hotel , and if we had a Euro for every Buenas Dias or Hola, we could afford to return for the Tenth time.More

I never write a review but I paid such a huge amount of money for two suites (800 Euros each) I was expecting the five star luxury experience and it just isn't it. If you're used to this in other countries, despite the rave reviews...i think you'll feel a bit cheated. I decided to spend one night in the Gran Tacande down the road afterwarss and although not adults only I've paid here 208 euros for a room that is four times as big, it's it lowest priced room and has a lounge area and large outdoor area. The El Mirador has excellent staff, and is why a lot of very wealthy elderly people go back numerous times I think plus it very peaceful and had a lovely pool, but over £700 pounds for a cramped suite in a hotel that badly needs a makeover?! Anyone under 40 I think will not appreciate the 80s decor style, this originally was a family run hotel and Iberostar have taken over but not updated the furnishings. The food was great at breakfast and sometimes lacking in an elevated culinary chef at dinner but thr buffet was good/normal, the tasting menu restaurant needs a real revamp, the food was simply not good enough. They don't have a tasting menu chef and it's very apparent . As I say I've never left review before but I don't want people to make the same mistake, its such a lot of money. I feel very deflated but as i say the staff and pool are lovely but decor and value for money is there it would such a large injection of money to get this going though, i fear ina few years it will be struggling. There are places nearby that are far better.More

These are the places I love visiting during my travels - great food, nice people and fantastic views! Probably one of my fav meals in the 8 days on Tenerife, even though we visited on a pretty nasty weather day and it did rain for...some time while we were there! Delicious food, made to order - takes a moment but not to long but in a place like this it's just for better so you can enjoy more of the open air and the views (if only those guests weren't smoking.... cigarette smoke definitely spoiled my brother's experience as he sat closer to a table who smoke one cigarette after another... maybe the restaurant could ban the cigarettes as there is plenty of the area outside of it for the smokers...) An added bonus is the side entrance to the Playa de Benijo - you can park here at the restaurant, eat and go to the beach, it's all in one :) a very scenic area, a superb location for a restaurant! TIP: the sign on the parking lot reads clearly for the patrons of El Mirador only, not sure if they check it but I wouldn't dare to check the policy otherwise as it's pretty far from the "main areas" of the island :)More

Our first trip to this hotel in Tenerife. It was fabulous. It started with a tour from Tizianna to our suite which was stunning. She made us feel so welcome. Everything to the little gifts in our room, to coffee maker and fridge, we can’t...wait to go back. The little touches when we were around the pool, suddenly someone appeared with a complimentary drink. ALL the staff were excellent and just lovely. We loved the atmosphere in the bar with great bar men, nothing was too much. There was evening entertainment. A nice touch. The hotel everywhere was spotless. Hope to go back next year.More

We have been going to this hotel for at least ten years if not more. There are usually six or eight of us and we keep coming back because it is so good. The service is excellent and nothing seems to be much trouble. Rooms...are spacious, well kept, cleaned and serviced every day to a high standered. Breakfast is a sheer delight! You would be hard pushed to find a better display and choice anywhere. It is self service. but anything you require is cooked to you liking and my wife who has allergies, is veggie and cannot eat rice (a chefs nightmare) is always looked after and nothing is too much trouble, The facilities are what you would expect from a 5 star, seveal pools, easy access to the beach and shops. The restaurant food is something that I cannot comment on too much as we rarely use it. The one time we did it was fine, but we like to choose from the dozens of good restaurants near by or within 15 minutes. The hotel is for adults only which suits us fine and has coped well with the disruption of you know what!! The hotel is perhaps a little pricey for some, but we all agree you get what you pay for and as far as we are concerned it is great value for money considering the whole set up. Highly reccomended, it is up there with the best Tenerife has to offer.More

Very tasty local food. The aubergine tatine ins definitely worth try. My fish dish was super tasty as well. You have the impression it's simple food, but there is some mastery behind! Fantastic view to the ocean.

Accidentally dropped in because the ocean views were beautiful. But then there was only disappointment. The fried fish was very small, although we asked if it was enough for 2 people. The price is very high. The homemade wine was of poor quality. I would...give two stars, but the views were beautiful. of course I won't be backMore

The restaurant has a terrace with fantastic view on the coast. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was decent at a fair price. Only the translations in the English menu were not totally accurate. I ordered an octopus stew, and got a stewed octopus....Not exactly what I was expecting.More
