Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Incredibly unhelpful service - we went into this restaurant having telephoned in advance to ensure they could take us. The reviews on Tripadvisor were stunning - but quite old! When we arrived we were the only ones there. The hostess wouldn’t permit us to move...a chair and then when we asked for a menu we were told we had to scan it. That is quite understandable during these covid times but we weren’t able to download the menu and she made no attempt to help us. In the end up we left - having been offered no help and not even asked if we wanted a drink. Deeply disappointing. If this business wants to survive they need to re-think their customer service and welcome!!More

Francais Nous avons été très bien reçu par le gérant. Nous ne parlions pas espagnol mais il a su nous guider à travers sa carte. Un régale du début à la fin ! Loin des restaurants beaucoup trop touristiques. On a adoré. Merci ! English...We were very well received by the manager. We didn't speak Spanish but he was able to guide us through his menu. Very tasty from start to finish! Far from too touristy restaurants. We loved it. Thank you !More

Absolutely delicious food! We had the hummus and the "Panceta y garbanzos salteados con ciruelas y orejones" to start. The chickpeas were UNREAL. Incredibly delicious. Then we had the roasted duck and the cheese and pear tortellini. Both excellent, the duck was so moist and...tender. We also shared a bottle of bubbly white wine which was really yummy too! We visited during Covid and the staff was sure to tell us about the systems they had in place, which we really appreciated. Staff was very friendly as well. Also it was so well priced. Did not disappoint! :)More

Cozy and delicious restaurant! Stopped in for lunch and had one of the better meals of my trip. If it looks crowded, don’t despair, there’s more seating downstairs. Friendly and attentive staff that will help you decide among the very good menu choices. The menu...del día was about 13€, but worth it. The hummus is tasty and fresh and the meat moussaka piping hot and delicious. The meal was completed with some vino tinto, excellent tiramisu and a coffee. Don’t hesitate to eat here!More

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and decided to go as we are both big fans of this kind of food, and it did not disappoint at all. We ordered the hummus, cous cous with chicken and cheesecake, and it was all delicious! On...top of that, the waiters were lovely.More

We tried to book Salam last year but it was closed on the day we were in Salamanca. All the reviews were excellent so we made the reservation on this visit. Sadly we found the food on the bland side, the server was friendly but...apologetic about what we ate. I wouldn’t recommend against going here but if you like really flavoured food, I would suggest somewhere else.More

We made a stop during our Journey and we decided to have Lunch here. Food was good and at a very reasonable price, but the atmosphere, specially the behaviour of the waitress was so unpleasant. What a pity.

We went with the set price menu that had a lot to choose from. We started with the clam & bean soup & the hummus! It was really good. For main course we had the couscous with chicken and the moussaka with meat. We really...enjoyed the meal. The flavors were amazing. We also selected a bottle of their house wine ( Tempranillo) 6e that was really good. We also enjoyed a decadent dessert and coffee. The atmosphere & service was excellent. Very attentive and friendly service.More

We wanted something different and went to Salam. The menu is not very elaborated but you find enough vegetarian options. A menu starter main desert with coffee is on the high end for Spain. The starter hummus was nice as well the hummus with tomato...a fine twist. Ordered Zaater as a main. The Zaater was a bit far on the background personally I was a bit disappointed. The food in general is good quality. One point as advise to the management is the waitress should be a bit more attentive. For the food surely 5 stars for the service not more than 2...overall good to go of the beaten path and out of the crowds. A gem in an area where main courses are normally only for Jon veg.More

This restaurant is very close to the university but off the beaten track. The food was lovely and excellent value for money. The owners are very friendly and give very good service. The restaurant is small and you are unable to seat outside which is...a shame. Well worth a visit.More

We had a bit of a stalled start, I thought I had made a reservation for 8pm Saturday dinner when we were passing at lunchtime but when we went back to the restaurant at 8 we discovered they didn't open until 8.30, I doubt this...was their fault, more likely my poor Spanish language skills. Of course we were first in as this is very early for Spanish evening dining and had personal service but by 9.30 they were turning walk-ins away so I recommend booking. The meal and wine were brilliant and very reasonably priced hence the above quote made as we walked back to the Hotel to re-join our touring party. Thanks again.More

When a resturant has very high rating you wonder if it can really be that good well Salam certainly does not dissapoint, the food was just superb, the staff could not have been more helpful and he ambience was ideal. So good I broke one...of my rules and went back the next day and yes a different choice of dishes did nothing to change my opinion, if you are eating in Salamanca its the place to go.More

As pescatarians we struggled a bit in Spain to find some nice vegetarian food. Therefore we were delighted to find Salam. A small restaurant offering food with a Moroccan influence. The food and wine were of a great standard and very reasonably priced. The staff...were very helpful and took time to talk us through the menu choices. We ended up having three courses and enjoyed every one! Great choices - all delicious! If you fancy a change from traditional food go to Salam you won’t be disappointed.More

We had lunch at Salem today both my sister and I got the fixed-price menu of primero Segundo and postre, our waiter Ahmed was wonderful and helped to translate all of the various menu items. We even tried the bull testical appetizer!! The eggplant empanada...was crisp hot and drizzled with honey. Dessert of white chocolate cream with orange marmalade sauce was refreshing and decadent.More
