Amazing. If you go to Barcelonetta for a day, have lunch here! Our guide on a walking tour lives in this area and recommended this local place. It is not cheap...but worth every penny of the $70 euro we spent for lunch. Get the grilled seafood platter. It is an amazing heap of langoustines, shrimp, grilled clams, mussels, etc. when... More

Worst meal in Barcelona by far! Can't believe this has got any good reviews as it is ridiculously overpriced and underwhelming. Even if it was half the price I wouldn't go back.

Excellent seafood and Spanish chorizo & carpaccio. A bit of an issue if you don't know the local language. Decently expensive but the lobster was worth it.

Went there for lunch with my girlfriend. I speak Spanish almost fluently, but she doesn't. None of the waiters spoke English - though they still tried very politely to understand her. The entrecote was excellent - very large and juicy for a Well-Done steak.

They gave us sausage while we waited for our Paella, which was very good. Our waiter Adil was very attentive and brought us tomato bread and then after dinner he brought us apertifs, sweets and offered us coffee all for free. He also entertained us and told us about Morocco. He was funny. I enjoyed this meal very much. We... More

Stupidly, I didn't read theTrip Advisor reviews before we came here as this was recommended by someone else. The food was below par for the price charged; paella was not as good as led to believed - very small amount of seafood to be found and very salty. Bread was put on our table and we ate a slice each... More

First time in Barcelona and wanted to experience some traditional food.... asked around and i was directed to this beautiful restaurant, located sea side you enter and you can see and smell the beautiful Catalan spirit.... the walls of the restaurant are plastered with pictures of what i assume are celebrities, all coming to eat at the restaurant posing with... A really touristic restaurant in town. Taxis earn tips for taking customers to it. Very crowded and food ok. People smoking close to our table, even in the covered area. High prices for the food offered. Don't recommend.

Beautiful setting right across from the beach. The paella was incredible and worth every penny. The service was wonderful and the only negative thing I can say is that the pitcher of sangria was not worth 19 euro. Other than that, nothing but good things to say!

If you haven't eaten for a few weeks then go here. The food by volume is good value, however if you want to leave the table having had a quality dining experience then probably look somewhere else. Greeted by a plate full of soggy bread, ordered calamari which needed more flavour, a sauce or some seasoning, then had steak which... More

Salamanca's Restaurant is one of the most typical and traditional restaurants in Barcelona, where you may have lunch or dinner by celebrities like Julio Iglesias, Pique o Shakira. One of the few authentic restaurants remaining beachfront of Barceloneta. You can not leave Barcelona without your picture by Silvestre, Salamanca's tireless owner for more tan fourty years and also a celebrity in Barcelona. Best: paella, ham, fresh seafood chosen by specialists and good vibes.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
