Just found this place as we were looking for somewhere to eat and it seemed to have a great atmosphere. Over our 4 day break we ate here three times, just tapas, but found they had a great selection and enjoyed trying different dishes. I can recommend the blood sausage and the Creme Catalana. The staff here were very friendly... More

We arrive around 20h30 and the restaurant was full so we had to way at the bar. At this point everything was ok since we didn't have any reservation. After 15 minutes they got us a table for two near the kitchen/bathroom corridor. Then we order only 3 simple things that were exposed in the bar, 2 beers and a... More

We had this restaurant recommended to us before we left, we weren't seeking it out, just luckily happened upon it. O'Toxo is a real treat of a place, cosy, friendly staff and the food was excellent. We had the meat paella which was to die for! Accompanied with a litre of Cava sangria and we were more than satisfied! Dessert... More

We had to wait 15 minutes just to be seated. There was only one waiter, which delayed the food as well.

A small, busy, noisy, fun tapas bar in the newly redeveloped area called Raval. The food was amazing. There were five of us so we had a good variety, all very good, but the paella was outstanding. Great wine, great food, great atmosphere - O'Toxo was a great find in a city with many many tapas bars. Mostly locals were... More

Ended up at this restaurant on our first night because it was close to the hotel. I had patatas bravas, iberico sausages and manchego cheese. The food was okay but nothing special. The waiter was very friendly and actually happy to speak english so that's a plus.

Nice food, tapas were good, a little overpriced. Nice service, free wifi, waiter somehow know it all kind of type. It is a small place.

What more could you ask for? Friendly service, large variety of tapas to every taste, comfortable, decent portion sizes and most of all seriously affordable. All tapas was freshly prepared and delicious, service was fast, polite and helpful, this was exactly the tapas experience we were looking for, highly reccomended!

Went to this place twice while in Barcelona. The first night we found it by accident. There were four of us and we ordered the paella, It was excellent. The second night we went there were seven of us and we booked a table in advance. When we arrived it was waiting for us. The service was brilliant and the... More

This is a great restaurant about 100m off the Rambla. We had a warm and friendly welcome, and they managed to accommodate our party of seven at relatively short notice. We ordered from the tapas menu - quite extensively - and found a huge number of excellent dishes from calamari to potatas brava to blood sausage to omelette; all of... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
