Possibly the best Mexican food I have eaten in Barcelona. Cocktails are divine. Really good value for your money.

We had dinner at la Hacienta. Decoration was lovely and the service was good. The dish we had wasnt so big and I felt oäit needed more seasoning.

Went there to have lunch and drink with our friends and their toddler and it was empty. Sat down, ordered and waited patiently. When we were served, we spotted a big cockroach on the floor, told the staff and they picked it up. Despite that, we decided to stay and eat...my food was burnt underneath and quite frankly, inedible. My... More

The restaurant was colorful and bright when we stepped through the doors. There wasn't a crowd and the waiter was very nice and spoke English well. The food was similar to American mexican food but waaayyy tastier and the beer was cheaper than water! my husband had AL Pastor tacos and I had a Chicken Burrito.

Food, wine and atmosphere is perfect. We had to go back and try the nachos for a second time. Based on the steps of the gothic quarter it's a perfect place to start and finish a walk through a beautiful city.

NYE, everything was nearly booked out and we didn't have a booking but they managed to fit us in as it was early (for Spain, not us from Australia). Staff were really friendly and the food was absolutely amazing (especially the beef/steak soft taco - you make it yourself but I can't recall the name). The food came out really... More

This place has the greatest nachos I've ever eaten! We have been back so many times, purely for them! The ones with chorizo are a personal favourite, but the chilli ones and the chicken ones are also excellent!

We've a pleasently lunch at la Hacienda in our first day in Barcelona and although different it was not disappointing, excellent Chicken Taco and a wonderful natural Limonade, the place has a simple mexican decoration in a very relaxed environment, clean and neat.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
