It was a little dissapointing as the menu del dia read very good but the food itself didnt live up to expectations. The dishes were small and no particularly well prepared. The service was very choppy, looked as if two of the staff were new and had no idea what they were doing while, who I assume was the owner,... More

This friendly corner diner with sidewalk tables is just the spot for an early oj, coffee and danish or a beer or glass of wine with some fresh anchovies or oysters before dinner. Perfect for a light lunch. Around the corner from the posh Hotel Majestic. Inviting conversationalists with excellent English. Always worth a quick stop. Also, a source for... More

Late night choice for Friday dinner. Very friendly staff. Meals were very nice but nothing truly exceptional. Wine choice of the Spanish Verdelho was very good. Decor quirky but sound system was substandard and air conditioning leaked drops on our table 😕

Place seems always to be full, It's one of the nicest cafe corners in Eixample. However I ended up overpaying 10Euro for a ham and cheese tasteless sandwich and a small orange you. You can get better food anywhere else. How can you deliver such a mediocre sandwich? How hard can it be?

We arrived at 11:30--too late for breakfast and too early for lunch. We had walked a long way that morning and were in need of beverage and food. The manager was helpful, but when we had not made a decision moved on to other tasks. A young man attempted to take our order, but could not understand even when we... More

A beautiful restaurant (with a small sidewalk cafe) in a gracious part of Barcelona, yet tucked away from the bustle. Friendly waitstaff and very good food, plentiful portions.

After just a few minutes we felt like it was a place where they try to get as much money as they can from you. We tryed to change our choice of starter after ordering it but that was not possible even if we had not got the starter yet. A waiter also came and put another starter on our... More

We knew Josephine as a charming place to have a drink but today we discovered that it is also a good choice to have a tasty dinner. Impressive tuna tartar! Good music and ambiance. Very friendly service, thanks Adria!

Lluís Hi, thanks for sharing your experience. Our chef strives to prepare the fantastic dishes there in the letter. As you say, the atmosphere for a drink is fine, and if you spend the Friday night, you can enjoy live music. If you enjoyed the dinner, I recommend spending a day at noon, and try our menus. You might take... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
