The only good thing about this place is that the food actually tasted pretty good. But the rest of the experience was awful. The waiters are rude and uninterested in treating customers well. The food is pretty decent, except for the portions - they are incredibly small. I actually had to go somewhere else to eat more to stop being... More

We chose L'Oliva one night as it was close to our hotel and we had walked far enough that day. Food was good quality I had Lamb chops (4) they were well cooked and so was my wife's Hake. I found the staff helpful and polite, Nothing else to say really descent enough averaged priced city restaurant.

My husband and I decided to try this Restuarant on our stay in Barcelona. We were first on that night to book in, we both ordered duck with apple. The staff was rude, seems to be run by three grumpy old men from we could see. I wasn't able to have sangria for my drink, told it was a drinking... More

We were looking for a nice quit dinner on our last night in Barcelona. From outside the place looked inviting and we decided to give it a try. We were feeling very hungry but the head waiter advised us to take just the starters and paella telling us we could order more if we were still hungry afterwards. He was... More

Tried to get into this restaurant on previous visits to Barcelona, but it was always full. Whilst it does appear to be part of a chain, the location of this particular restaurant seems to make it quite popular. The food and service certainly made the wait worthwhile. The waiters were courteous, even though their English wasn't fantastic (yes,I know I... More

Menu of the day offers great value. Three course meal for two with a bottle of wine came to around 40 euros.Service was efficient. The food was reasonable and good value for money, better here than on on La Rambla. I had a chicken caesar salad for first course which was huge and very tasty. My wife had spinach cannelloni... Went there with my wife in September. It was a busy day, some kind of national festival, we sat down and ordered 2 sangrias. The waiter wrote down the ordered and started walking towards the bar. At that moment, i changed my mind and ordered 1 sangria and 1 water. The waiter then said "sorry, just for food", and asked... More

Very good food, good service, we enjoyed it. Unfortunately, a chose three different desserts--all of which they didn't have available, so did not get dessert. Had to order coffee three times before it came. Main entree was cooked well and was tasty. Nice atmosphere--prices in Barcelona that one would expect.

Good spot for a light lunch or full meal. We had both. Pured vegetable soup was good as was the full lunch deal of caesar salad, chicken and rice, a 375 mL bottle of very cold vino and creme brule.

Stopped for an early afternoon meal. The service was slow and poor. Staff were more interested in ensnaring passing customers than attending to the ones they had. Food was greasy, poor quality, way overpriced and lacking in taste. My advice - pick somewhere else!

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
