Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really cool vibe and some very traditional tapas! Quite a good price-quality ratio, and the staff is amazing!!! There was only one server, the other two were sick, but we didn't felt ignored, quite the opposite! We suggested some tapas, the wine and gave us...the desert! Definitely a place to come back to!More

Any pintxo here is worthy of my palate, hot or cold. I will keep coming back. The sidra is splendid and my belly couldn’t ask for more. I fear I will gain many kilos in this establishment but that’s a risk I am willing to...take. I just can’t be without the exquisitely fresh bites this spot has to offer. I recommend this to anyone who is moderately sybaritic, because it will blow your hair, I promise. I am yet to discover a better pintxos in town. Until then, this is where to be. P.s.: you can tell the quality is well kempt because the owners are always here.More

Excellent ingredients and flavors made these the best tapas during my visit to Barcelona. Cash only. Owner was friendly and a great host. He shared a few of his favorite selections with us as complimentary. Popular local spot.

Wonderful variety of tapas, pintxos and raciones, excellent quality – so delicious you want to come back again and again. This is run by a team of two that are just cool, professional, highly efficient and really fun to talk to, creating a great atmosphere....Hard to find a better pintxos-tapas place anywhere in Spain (well, to be fair anywhere outside of San Sebastian, the capital of pintxos). Will definitely go to Gasterea again!More

Cute place and nice staff. The food was very very good. One of the best places to eat in Barcelona. We almost tried the whole menu and everything was amazing. You can exactly eat the right amount with pinchos that’s what I love about it.

Pinchos (sausage, cheese, fish etc on a slice of bread), platets (small ceramic casseroles with hot food), croquettes, are all served by an energetic staff. There are menus in English to make it easier to order for the Castillian-challenged. Accompany the food with with typical...Basque libations like cider or txacoli, a light Basque white wine; of course they also serve beer. As per tradition, the bar is long, but it fills up quickly, so either get there early or just take your chances.More

Slow service, grumpy staff, from 10 to 0 I put them a 5 on their pinchos. A lot to improve for the exagerated price you have to pay for them. Not reccomandable

I ate here 2 days in a row because the food is just outstanding! Very delicious. And you can see all tapas in front of you while sitting in a small bar and eating. Highly recommend!!

Tapas are great. They have a nice selection of small bites and larger plates. There are no tables so try to arrive early to get a seat at the bar. You will also be able to look at the pintxos. Depending on the person you...get, service ranges from rude to good. Our bartender was just bad - he asked us what wanted to drink and when we didn’t respond immediately, he just walked away. However, we overheard other bartenders at the second bar patiently helping other customers and even having friendly conversations. All in all, food is good and cheap enough to chalk up the bad service to a “language barrier” and just enjoy it :)More

Good and cheap tapas. On the other hand the staff was rude and the service was hectic and insufficient. Had to fight for a table, nobody had oversight for the seating.
