Came for lunch and took the Menu del Dia for €11.95 which is great value. There is the choice of probably 8 or so starters and main courses, plus dessert, bread and a drink. I took the mussels followed by paella and my wife the calamari and then roast chicken. All of the food was excellent and in ample portions.... More

Stopped here for a dinner, alone. I had menu del dia - sardines ala plancha (grilled) and paella marisco. Both vere very good, paella was very rich of seafood, and I had troubles finishing it. Price appropriate, and I think waiter did not count the beer I had. Service ok, and fast, only one guy was making up the table... More

The food was ok, two paellas, normal prices. Environment-you would not think it was anything great. But the prices! Didn't want bread but had to have it for two euros. I asked a glass of water and was brought a €3.5 plastic bottle. When the waiter brought the change, we did not take it straight away (not sure if we... More

I am not sure if its true, but it certainly feels that way. Their vegetablrs plate for 15 euro is just disgusting Worst experience for us in Barcelona by far. On top of everything +10% price. Insane bad.

My wife had mussels and loved them. My prawns where nothing special and the wine was too expensive. I was our first day in Barcelona so we did learn. Waiters where friendly and quick. Nothing special.

Steamed muscles were nice, prawns ok. 1/2 bottle of wine was too expensive for what it was. Water too expensive. You pay extra for bread and they add service. Although the place looks cheap you end up paying about the same as in a better, smarter place. Having said that the staff was pleasant and food ok

Excellent location by the wharf area. Ate lunch with a girlfriend. The daily menu for 11.95 E, for me included Gazpacho ( cold tomato, tasty soup), seafood paella ( shrimp, calamari, small lobster, bell peppers, lots of saffron), dessert, & a glass of sangria. Paella was enough for 2. My friend had the grilled salmon & grilled small fish as... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
