So we walked from Poble Sec via the Rambla de Mar and the beautiful Parc de la Cuitadella so we were tired. My wife had the makings of a blister and we needed to rest and eat and like a shimmering oasis in a desert Le Bouchon appeared and we were saved. A soothing cold beer and a fantastic snack... More

Friends of ours were staying at the Mercer Hotel. We didn't want a big meal so the hotel suggested Le Bouchon which is accessible through the hotel or the street. The staff and friendly and knowledgeable and the food was terrific.

Fabulous beef tapas but forgot our prawns. Excellent patatas bravas. Lovely interior. Great service, friendly staff and great selection of wine. Specials were really good. If it wasn't for the prawns I'd definitely rate as 5 and some of the best tapas you'll find.

Although I do not mind to pay some more money if it's worth it, this was a totally disapointing experience. It may be connected to one of the better hotels but what we were presented here was in my opinion not in harmony with the bill we received afterwards. At first we weee about to get a table next to... We had 2 copa Sangria, small and poor glasses at 8€ each is 16€. A lots of light and no atmosphere. We had made a reservation for dinner but we left the cold place.

Never even acknowledged at the door and it was very quiet and only 10:20pm. The waiter didn't even say hello and when we came in (of our won accord) this continued. Wife was hoping for some tapas having seen this place last night but she was made to feel like something the waiter had stood on. Very angry and upset.... More

Lovely evening, started with the intention of just having s tapas and going elsewhere. What tapas we had changed all that. Good proportions of beautiful tastes Russian Salad, spicy potatoes and exquisite octopus. We decided to have a couple more and forget finding some where else. The beef dish was just right, thin slices beautifully cooked and the lamb dish... More

We stumbled upon this little jewel by chance. It has a great ambience in the old part of town. It combined modern design with the old elements of the building. The wine list is just big enough to suit different tastes, with a short menu for things to eat. There are just enough tables.

This is a total hidden gem buried in the Gothic Quarter next to Mercer Hotel. Only a dozen tables inside and 2 bar stool tables in the doorway. I chose one of the bar stools as it was a warm evening and i like to people watch. The menu is tapas with style. Its not cheap but its worth it.... More

While not a bad choice if you're at the Mercer, there are much better options if you care to walk a bit. Most of the food we had here was heavily salted and seasoned, with some being a bit hard to eat. Overall, it's not bad, but could be much better.

Thank chris s
