A great place to have a drink;old fashion way cocktails or more actual like the mojito. A lovely atmosphere with a touch of vintage, cosy sofas feeling like in an art noveau " interior. Nice quality -price.

Stopped here to catch our breath after a long walk trough the streets of Barcelona. It was a nice surprise to find such a nice place with self made wine and accompanied pintxos.

Went there as a couple for a quick stop off. Lovely interior with a last century feel. On a Saturday night, the place was buzzing but there were always tables free and quick service. Very convivial place, perfect to get away from the crowds while feeling like you're still in the heart of the action.

We were looking for somewhere for a drink on a busy Saturday night, most bars were overflowing with people but Casa Almirall was our saviour. Busy but bigger than most bars, seats extend to the back of the room, the atmosphere is relaxed, we especially loved the marble tables, modernist chairs and little touches such as the unbranded wine!

Stumbled across this character filled place purely by chance. Ordered up an estraella galecia and sat and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Noticed a few locals enjoying similar drinks and asked the young barmen John what they were ...Barcelona vermouth! All served in a slim glass with an olive perched on top.Well I had to try one..and another and another.Delicious.John was... More

Very old bar serving wide selection of beers and spirits and hate drinks and also tapas. Free wifi A bit hard to find but not far from the ramblas. Nice to while away the day.

One of the historic establishments of Barcelona which has survived almost unchanged since the nineteenth century, Casa Almirall is well worth a detour if you appreciate vintage interiors and architectural style. The display of bottles behind the bar itself is a curvy masterpiece of polished wood with not a right angle in sight. The staff are friendly and welcoming and... More

Nice place and staff very polite and trying to teach Spanish to every one. Nice drinks and nice atmosphere inside. Was quiet in afternoon. So not a bad thing. Overall pleasant.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
