Food was very poor. Everything seemed to be prepared from mass produced frozen food. The staff were pushy trying to sell anything on the menu that must have been poor sellers. Was very ill for days after. Can not recommend this restaurant at all Please...More

I’m surprised by the negative reviews for this place - we loved it! My wife is vegetarian so we were looking for places which have at least some options. The vegetarian paella looked interesting so we decided to go in. For starters I had the...More

This restuarant is located in the tourist area of Barcelona. The service is good with typical Spanish hospitality. Tapas are tasty. Suckling pig as a main course is a little bit above average. The price is not that expensive but not cheap. It is one...More

Maybe it was the heat, the sangrias were outstanding; we wish the meal so up to the drinks...comparing to restaurants off La Rambla, it was overpriced...great location for people watching; staff was friendly and attentive

No drinks menu / prices and when the waiter was asked about this after the bill he laughed in our faces. Not a great experience at all, feel sorry for the hen party that have just ordered a round of cocktails and G&T's 😂😂

Got "hawked in" by a waiter but was very pleased. My wife had an excellently prepared salmon, I had a very good seafood paella meal (quite filling). Very good sangria. Great people watching from open air table on Las Ramblas.

We were encouraged to come and sit down by the staff who were a little full on at first but were very lovely and provided great service. We only shared a pizza but it was very good. The sangria was also really nice, but we...More

The staff are a bit pushy to get you in but once you're in they're really friendly. I got a sangria which was quite strong and not to my taste, bread with garlic dip and something else which I don't know the name of. It...More

We dined here today for lunch. The waiter was at first a bit pushy. He wasn't happy that we chose to share a paella. Talked us in to ordering an entree which turned out to be very nice. Just garlic bread and cheese but we...More

La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry
riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard,
and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La
Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll
past impressive human statues and artists while others
take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at
one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic
Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and

Description
AMAYA opened seventy-five years ago... Many years ago! In the middle of spring (May 21, 1941), D. Antonio Mailán Poussin and José Marcé Miquel, came early in a local they had rented weeks before in the middle of La Rambla, to open "their" restaurant. Both had many years of experience, the first as a cook and the second as a waiter. It has been seventy-five years since then, and the restaurant continues to serve its loyal customers in the usual place: up the La Rambla at number 20, near the monument to Columbus. It is a traditional restaurant, with Basque and Mediterranean cuisine, owned by Torralba family. Currently, the restaurant is run by the fourth generation of restaurateurs.
