I have eaten here 3 or 4 times over the last 8 or so years. And don't get me wrong, the quality of the food is top shelf, but.....#1,..anticipate being abused by the staff. They act like you don't know anything about food. There is...More

The good stuff; great fresh ingredients simply and expertly prepared all that you could ask for from a simple Tapas restaurant where ingredients are King. The bad:a long long long wait for a seat in an environment where you pay twice the going rate for...More

We enjoyed dinner here but it wasn't anything fabulous compared to others in Barcelona (Canete!) although the tortilla is definitely worth going for. I felt the waiter just suggested the same for everyone, there wasn't any standouts (apart from tortilla) yet the staff were super...More

Yes, it is touristy ,but locals go there too.Their food is great. Not for claustrophobic people or if you are thinking of a sit down restaurant. You'll be seating in stools & have people waiting behind you. But you won't be disapointed. Botifarra de Foie...More

El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent
the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But
this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually
enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few
places that live and breathe such exciting energy
regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood
seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the
city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants

Cal Pep offers a fresh and bright culinary experience with easy and quick preparations. Our restaurant concept grew from the idea of sharing the dishes, their tastes and flavours, in a 'tapas'-style. Faithful to this style, Pep invites us to enjoy light, exquisite and extremely varied dishes. Cal Pep is authentic Mediterranean cuisine, reflecting Pep's personal style and incorporating seasonal ingredients. You will enjoy fish, shellfish and fresh produce, all prepared with Pep's originality and flair. Welcome and happy dining! For a truly great tapas place, sit at the bar at old-school Cal Pep, Thomas Keller's vote for the best food in Europe. -- The Guardian The 'Tapas Institution' of Barcelona. There is no shtick here apart from superbly fresh seafood, served simply and on plates designed for sharing. -- The Telegraph
