A proper local joint. Off the beat ran track with almost no tourists. The Veal is extremely tender and melts in the fork . The grilled Monk fish was a big dry but still nice. Don't do dessert as this is not their specialty. Menus for dessert is too long and hence only average.

Starter was great but the steak really was the best we've ever, ever had. We ordered beer and wine to go with the steak. A lone dinner was sat next to us and when he left he gave us half a bottle of wine to add to ours which was great because we like a little drink or three. I... More

The restaurant was full of character and very busy. It was full by 2pm so glad we reserved. Service was a bit hit and miss. We chose the set menu which was inexpensive with a reasonable choice and a half bottle of house wine. Food was OK as was the wine. Quite nice as a one off.

First time. My friends never mention it . Why? Lots of Jap tourists. Old fashioned. Aged waitresses. Aged bathrooms. Lots Of choice and food you do not find everywhere. Pig's trotters. Galtas. Mariscada. Sacher torta. Most customers are aged. Catalans who find it good value. Decoration like a museum. I would go back

OMG thought I had stepped back into a 1970 dinner party. Only thing missing was the butterscotch angels delight. Exorbitant price given the poor quality.

Wow... this is an experience! I definitely recommend this place. One of the oldest restaurants in Spain... from the moment we started walking to get to this restaurant..z then we were greeted nicely. Who would have thought this large 3 stories high restaurant would be in this place. The food was great and the wine... the sangria... the desserts....wow! Definitely... More

We found it in Lonely Planet as the oldest restaurant in Barca. At 9 p.m. there was a spectacular queue but all people had the seat. We ate delicious sea and land soap and pastis, catalana cream. All tipical local food well cooked and served in a flash. Maybe the best choice the we tryed in Barca. The Barrio Gothic... More

Recommended by Spanish family friend. Reserved table which was just as well. 9.00pm 50+ people queuing outside, initial thoughts "oh no bad choice". Wrong, doors opened our table was reserved, waitress told us this was normal when we asked if we would have to wait long for our food. Not only did the restaurant cope with the influx but the...
