Had a few beers with a few tapas plates, very good traditional dishes. Nice atmosphere and clearly very popular.

This is a good place if you want to eat tapas in a nice area just in the between ramblas and the beach. Service is quite fast, especially food: indeed you might see a few tapas coming in just a minutes even though for a few of them you might wait much longer as everything look to be (very tasty)... I've been at least 10x in Spain in the last years, 3x in Barcelona so far, have eaten in many-many restaurants but Jai-ca is definitely on the top from gastro point of view! Not only the food was flawless but the ambient, the staff and the fast serving as well! We had to wait a few minutes outside to get... More

Small Tapas Bar with very friendly staff. Tapas taste fresh and are delicious. Certainly worth a visit if you end up in this part of the town.

Bar Jai-Ca in Barceloneta is a bustling, atmospheric tapas bar just a stone's throw from the beach in Barceloneta. We went there a year ago and returned to savour the informal vibe and scrumptious, affordable, fresh food. We weren't disappointed. The tiled tables and floors are traditional and welcoming. The staff are attentive and smiling ....and speak great English! Most... More

A real treat at a low cost. Jai-ca serves deliciously tasty tapas. Evening time the atmosphere is loud and lively, very authentic, love it! If you want to get away from all the touristic main stream places then you might want to give this place a go.

What can I say, we were taken here by a friend who said they serves the best Tapas in Barcelona. For me it was the best Tapas in the whole of Spain. The place was crowded but the staff was excellent in their service. Highly recommended.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
