Made a reservation for dinner, recommended by some person as the best sea food restaurant in this area: as arrived, it was almost empty (at dinner time!), offered us only a touristic overpriced degustation menu, with no chance to select what to eat. The chef came and told us he could made us a fish salad...at dinner time!! for a... More

We went there with a group of 8 people, made reservations and then the food began to flow, from baby eel in garlic, large shrimps, vongole, sea bass, barcelona sweets, all was put on our table without a menu... Fun concept but a little bit too expensive... When do you say stop?

Pricey but a first class restaurant and to be recommended as the star turn if you want a special treat over a weekend break. No menu at all... The professional waiters just bring plate after plate! As a tip to the punters... I wish with hindsight we had so ' no more' towards the end as we could have done... More

One of the best meals I have ever enjoyed, Passadis del Pep is an essential experience for anyone who loves authenticity and great cooking. The staff are wonderful, they couldn't have been more welcoming and caring. An evening that will live long in the memory.

I went there on recommendation of my sister, who told me that it was the best meal of her life. I can tell you without exaggeration that it was mine too! First of all, the entrance looked anything but an entrance to a restaurant. there were no signs and it shows that they dont need any extra attention. The ambiance... More

A short walk through the beautiful gothic EL Born area and you arrive at a simple green door. Entering into a small intimate restaurant, you are warmly welcomed. There is not menu to choose from , but each plate that arrived was unique and simply delicious. The waiters were attentive, recommending the perfect wine to go with each course, without... More

Passadis del Pep is a wildely overpriced place. The food, a fixed menu of mostly fish dishes, is good, but not better than in many other much less expensive restaurants in the area. The location is really nothing special, neither elegant nor cauzy or charming. It is basically a big room with no windows inside a building in the Born... More

We asked at our local hotel for a dinner recommendation and they booked us in here. We trusted the hotel receptionist so blindly followed his recommendation. This was a big mistake. We come from london which we thought was the most expensive restaurant city in the world. But no! €60 for a plate of sea snails that we didn't order... More

Every restaurant has its things. Here you are wellcome with a botlle of cava. They do not have a menú. You eat about five or six starters, good jamón serrano, gambas plancha, cañaillas, pimientos de padrón, salmonetes, ... and then the waiter asks you what do you want fish or meat. We ask for meat and we ate agorgeous chuletón... More

We were recommended this restaurant by a local and we weren't disappointed. The place has no menu, instead the daily availability of fish, shellfish etc. drives the dishes. Some dishes were excellent (huge prawns, langoustines, and we ordered extra sea bass) and some were interesting (sea snails). The price is decided, I think, by what you have (e.g. if you... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
