Good atmosphere, nice little 'restaurant' with few tables or places to stand. But the tapas aren't that great and not exactly cheap. The bread they use isn't my thing, more like a rusk. Very crunchy and not that tasteful. And it seemed to me they are improvising making the tapas. But that might be an art. As well as the... More

I'll admit that I was a little bit skeptical about Quimet. Surely years of Bourdain-hungry tourists, what with their cameras and questionable palates, would render the staff a little jaded, the food prepared with a little less care than when Tony first launched it to stardom. Boy, was I wrong. The whimsical salmon/yogurt/truffle honey montadito is great - sweet, sour,... More

This place is really small is you are going with kids don't take strollers or at least go when is less crowded, but the pinchos / tapas are really good. Don't waste money going to other places that are cheaper. This pinchos have a good quality/price ratio

This place was excellent! A small and bustling tapas joint with great service and the food is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend the quail, smoked oysters and sangria. Will definitely be back.

I am not sure how to rate this place. I thought I had seen it all when it comes to tapas. Then my wife and I went to Quimet & Quimet. Every tapa is an experience, a festival of flavors, out of this world!!! Forget the fact that you cannot sit down, that matters not. This should be the top... More

Visited this place on my own for a mid afternoon tapas and wine. Had seen this on a few sites and was pleased it was only a 15 min walk from my hotel. Great little hole in the wall with a wide selection of yummy foods and nice wines. Try and get there with others to get more from the... More

Quimet and Quimet is an absolutely a must visit. It is an old fashioned tapas establishment. No seats ,standing only. Catch the servers eye and order . Tapas hand made to order ,beer and wine from a huge array.prices very reasonable. Be prepared to wait to get in , then wait to be served but well worth it

Quimet y Quimet deserves its excellent reputation. We have been there twice and the food has been consistently outstanding. The smoked salmon montadito with thick yogurt and truffle honey is justly famous and delicious. Another inspired combination was the tapa of medlars (a first for me) with a spoonful of ripe soft cheese (Mont D’Or?) in the middle of each... More

It's a small place and when we arrived, quite crowded. The prospect of trying to order and figure out how this works was a little daunting to us but the woman we dealt with behind the counter was extremely helpful and friendly. It really helped with the experience. As for the food, very tasty!

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
