Standing room only once the crowd rolls in but worth the lack of seating. This is the BEST place I went to in Barcelona. Go there, eat, drink, enjoy. You'll not be sorry.

Too bad the tourists already know about this little stand up only bar. Great food, all good, even conserves, lovely brother and sister tend the business.

This was such a fun, unusual experience, definitely worth seeking out. Busy, hectic place but adds to the experience. Be patient and order more than once!

I ate so much delicious food in Barcelona, and this place was the best of it. In fact, it was so good that I went back twice. It's a tiny space with a tapas bar along one side and a couple small high tops - you've just got to squeeze your way in and grab a menu. The purveyors are... More

Oh how nice was this! It's very crowdy, and some people might not like this, but we absolutely loved it! Everything we tried, and we tried a lot, was really splendid. There's no real place to sit (only when you're really lucky) but that really adds to the atmosphere. A must go in Barcelona!

I came here based on Anthony Bourdain's show episode and the food, people, and ambiance is amazing. Get the white clams !

This was my favorite meal in Barcelona! So many amazing tapas options, plus amazing drink options. They sell liquors and food items, too, and you can request a drink to be made with one of the liquors they sell if you want. The dish with truffle honey was to die for! FYI it's a pretty small space and is standing... More

We loved the owners. They make great pinxos at a very fast pace behind their authentic counter. Try the Pate and the dried beef. Unfortunately very touristy.

A colleague from Barcelona took us here for dinner. Tapas was uniformly fantastic, the calamari the best I have ever eaten. So much so I ate 3 portions. Oops. Gets very crowded but worth the wait, locals and tourists are here and there's a great atmosphere.

Came here with a friend on a weekday night. It was insanely crowded and there was barely a spot to stand inside. We felt so lost as no staff was free to bring us in. We squeezed our way through and found a small spot at the corner of the counter. It's a really small place. There was a good... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
