We've been coming here for the past 15 years, probably once a month on average . Shibui has always been our favorite Asian in Barcelona but no longer.....despite the menu seeming the same, dish after unrecognizable dish came out, serving the same tired old, same-tasting Asian food you get everywhere. When asked if they had changed the chef they admitted... More

About 15 years ago, when I still lived in Barcelona, and Shibui was in its start up face, it was a pioneer in fine Japanese cuisine. A part from maybe at the time "El Japonés" in Passatge de la Concepció, Shibui didn't have much competition to fear, it was absolutely outstanding. I remember having lunch there once, must have been... More

Too expensive for the food you get. It is served as a mess. Not so much variation. Too little and the waiters don't speak English. They keep smiling and are friendly. They don't have a English menu. Never go back

Best sushi I've ever had. The food is amazing, and beautifully presented, the space and decoration are also expectacular! I RECOMEND 100%.

We have been in the restaurant many times and it has always been a very good experience. The quality of the neguri and the sashimi is high. The toro is always very nice, particularly the one which is slightly grilled. The personnel is friendly although they change too often the staff

This restaurant was highly recommended to us...so we were looking forward to a good meal. Unfortunately we didn't get it ...started badly with a very bad welcome....... Starters....actually very very good.. The main courses came along one dish was crawling with ants...which the waitress attempted to squash till she realised there were too many ...the other dish ...wagu beef with... More

we made a reservation with el tenedor, we were welcomed and put in a quiet romantic corner, we ordered oysters, which were DELICIOUS, the sushi was very good also and so was the wagyu carpaccio. everything was great, just a little pricey....

The welcome to the restaurant is terrible. There were at least two receptionists who supposed to attend each guest. But these two ladies were not even able to keep up with two clients. It was very disappointing, annoying..as 20mins without any gestures to be welcomed in any restaurants is absolutely terrible, unacceptable, if it had been my restaurant, these two... More

One of the Best Japanese in Barcelona. Nice selection of wines (my choice Gewustraminer Vines de Vera). Sea weed salad is the must. As everything else!

It is not just another japanese, Shibui is one of the few japanese resautants in Barcelona serving high quality sushi in a zen atmosphere. Rolls, makis and nigiris are very good, but the toro tartars and sashimis are gorgeous. If you are a group from 5 to 10 (and especilly if you go with kids) ask for the private traditional... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
