Hearty portions of tapas and Catalan dishes. Cozy atmosphere. Inconsistent service - we spoke up after being ignored by our server. Things got better after that. Prices reasonable.

Dinner started off horrendously when it took 10 minutes for our drinks (a beer and an orange juice) to arrive. Alongside our drinks we had ordered some jamon and a seafood Paella (which, according to the menu, took 20 minutes to be served). After 20 minutes we hadn't even received our jamon, even though the restaurant had only 3 more... More

Lovely food, chicken and veg paella great and not salty like some I've had. Plus the asparagus was fresh! Also recommend the aubergine starter. Definitely book on a weekend, we went on a Sunday evening and it was packed, had to wait an hour, although we were 6 and a baby! Service was good although busy and very reasonable price... More

The title of my review sums it up: this was the best restaurant experience I had in Barcelona. I was here for dinner on my Birthday with friends and we had a fantastic time, the food was delicious, portion size generous, and service was attentive. We ate the black ink paella, pan con tomate, red wine, and had a creme... More

Nice tavern and atmosphere. Try paella and "navara "steak. Also they serve nice beer and bread with tomato-they call it "coka " ,I think.

El Glop is large sized and very welcoming for a group. The surrounding was fantastic and very well set up. The food was carefully chosen with many varieties. The chefs made special meals for dietary needs. The waiters checked on us often and made sure we had what we needed. The chefs were there talking to us and enjoyable to... More

Came here with my girlfriend as it was generally close to our hotel. It was a Monday night. Not crowded. They have English language menus but not a place that caters to tourists. Ordered Paella and a bottle of white wine, recommended by our waiter. Paella was amazing and the manager/head guy there saw me struggle with the full shrimp... More

From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome. The service was generally quick and always polite. One of our party was a vegetarian which had caused problems in other places, but here there was no fuss at all. Superb calçots to start (followed by pa amb tomaquet for the romesco sauce), then 2 delicious paellas... More

Staying in Gracia

Neighbourhood Profile
Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the centre, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theatre that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
