Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I have just returned from Barcelona. On our first night we noticed there was large queues for both lunch and dinner, so we took this as an indication of how good the restaurant must be. So on our second day there we...ensured we made lunch. Well, the food is amazing and the value for money is ridiculous. In particular the Beef Tenderloin and the Chicken Ceasar Salad are amazing. The churros on the desert menu were really good, but the bread and butter pudding stole the show. Overall we had 4 main dishes, 3 pudding and 2 drinks and it came to a very respectful £43.00. The food was so good that we returned on our final night again. We also sampled the calamari which was so nice, barely seen the oil, full of flavour. We tried the mushrooms and asparagus, the croquettes, which are also amazing, the mini hamburgers, the cold madatoni. If you visit Barcelona make sure you come to the Catalana.More

We sampled at least 12 restaurants during our week in Barcelona, and we would rank Cerveceria in the top 2. The restaurant has an upscale feel and yet the prices are super affordable and the food is amazing. Everything was delicious including the Iberian ham/pear/mozzarella,...cabreaos style eggs (yummy, gotta try it) and for dessert the rosçon borrachín (drooling when I think about it). Highly recommend this restaurant.More

Excellent food, especially , beef tenderloin with foie gras, prawn skewer, suckling pig, salmon and prawn montadito, chicken and ham croquettes. Tried it all. Highly recommend it. Also, very pleased atmosphere. No reservations excepted, before 6:30 you can be seated within 5 minutes; if you...get there around 7:30—wait is at least 30 minutes long ; also, they might be out of some of the items on the menu.More

Great food and service. I was able to order Paella for one which surprised me. I had been told that most places will not make it for one person. I got there a little after 7 PM on a Monday and was seated immediately.

There can be a long queue for a table at this restaurant, but they are quick to seat due to the size of the establishment. We were seated in about 15 minutes (time was about 7:30 (19:30). The service was good as they had a...very large staff. We had tenderloin tapas, cuddle fish tapas, blue fin tuna tapas, patatas bravas, +, créma catalana, churros with dipping chocolate. There is a smaller outdoor space that we were happy to be seated in, and a very large indoor space. There are many good restaurants in the area where there is no wait and a bit calmer. If you go before the major meal rush, then it will be a bit more calm.More

We found this restaurant to be an exceptional value and the tapas and cocktails were delicious! It was recommended by a local, and even at 11:30 on a weeknight had a wait list! The tenderloin with pate was delicious, the tapas were very well prepared...and the service was outstanding.More

We decided to find this place after AI recommend it as near our hotel and then reading reviews here. We are so glad we did. It’s perfect for anyone who loves seafood or tapas. One person who doesn’t in our group was satisfied though. Cheaper...if you sit at the bar. Reasonably priced and delicious food and sangria. I highly recommend the local St Theresa desert, our food highlight of the trip.More

A repeat visit for us from our last visit 11 years ago and will make it a point to visit at least once every time we return. The tapas were delicious, some less familiar such as thinly sliced fried Artichoke. The checking system with text...confirmation made the wait on a busy Saturday easy and stress free fir our large group of 6. The translated menus and helpful staff made eating easy and enjoyable. One member of our party needed gluten free choices and were steered into appropriate choices including a gluten free beer. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star rating was they were out of some items. Probably to be expected at such a tasty and busy restaurant on a Saturday night. We will be back!More

Very popular among both locals and tourists... The long is super long after 9pm... I had dinner twice here before 8pm and was able to seat in within 10mins. Their tapas choices were mind blowing and the foie gras and steak tapas is a must...must try! ( Which was the reason I came back again). Excellence rioja house wine to go with those excellent tapas. The reason I removed one stat was because the service when I came 2nd time was a bit "funny"... The waiterss had a bit attitude and it took a long time for my tapas to be servedMore

Just round the corner from our hotel, this was a gem of a find. Busy at just before seven; by the time we left an hour or so later, the queue was huge! Great tapas and an enviable wine list. The Muga rose was very...good. Lots of choice. The Spanish omelette was fantastic as were the croquettes. Recommend sitting at the bar to get the best of the atmosphere and a good view of some of what is on offer. Very inexpensive! My only wish would be some music…!More

It was such a great experience. The lines are long, but it's worth the wait. It seems to be one of the most popular places around and for good reason. The tapas are varied, so delicous, and well priced. We loved the lobster rice, fried...anchovies, and the steak with foie gras was insanely delicous. The service was excellent, and the food came out fast. We will probably start going here daily to try all the tapas.More

This place is very popular and gets crowded really quickly. When we went there the restaurant was filled with patrons at every table and a little bit noisy. The servers were busy going from one table to another trying to get orders and food to...the right table. We ordered a few of the dishes which all tasted decent. The reason for my one star review is that my table was facing towards the kitchen. So every time the door opened I could see them working in the back. Near the end of my meal, produce and other items were being dropped off. The kitchen staff would pick up the boxes with their GLOVED HANDS but did not change them afterwards. This to me was very unhygienic. I wish I could have snapped a photo or a video. Anyways, not a place I'd go back to.More

what a wonderful find that place turned out to be; excellent tapas, quick and efficient service and a nice selection of wines; took a while to get in (waiting system is in place so make sure put your name on the waiting list at the...main door) but it was worth the wait; I can highly recommend itMore
