We wanted to come here because we liked the history of it being a hang-out for artists and writers. There is a real period feel. We had coffee and dessert, and really enjoyed it, but it was mainly the atmosphere that we loved.

We arrived at the 4 Cats by chance, as this was our first visit to Barcelona and we were exploring the Barri Gotic on a Friday evening without dinner plans. Although we had not made reservations, we checked with the host and could be seated within a few minutes. I had initially thought this was just a small tapas bar... More

Enjoyed some tasty tapas here after an ebike tour of Barcelona. An accident opening the cava bottle (into my ear ! 😳) was poorly handled by the waiter (obviously an accident - the waiter seemed stunned - but no attempt made to help mop the cava from my ear, clothes, lap or the table). Not much in the way of... More

They just took the order, then mixed up everything, forgot to bring dessert and left us waiting for ages

What a great place! Housed in the Gothic quarter in an iconic building linked to Picasso. Great food and wines, attentive and helpful staff all combined with a hip street bistro relaxed vibe make this a must visit location in Barcelona. If you go be sure to check out the pictures of the rich & famous visitors too!

Having visited this restaurant over 10 years ago with work colleagues, I was keen to re-visit with my wife although many of the earlier reviews didn't fill me with confidence. To be honest, you are paying for the history and location but the food was excellent. My only annoyance was the continual over selling by staff throughout our visit. The... More

Lovely venue Shame about the food. Cold and not fresh. Expensive and seems to rely on its history. One dish the Tuna Tatykai was very good. The lamb and pork were cold and tasteless.

We were excited to come across the entrance to 4 Gats as we were out walking the neighborhood. We were also pleasantly surprised to find live music, friendly service and warm vibe inside. The three of us ordered just 4 items, because our budget was a bit tight, We were impressed with each one. The octopus was very creamy and... More

Had a fun ambiance but the service, food and wine were not exceptional, when so many places in Barcelona are.

Description
Landmark of the city of Barcelona and Catalan modernism, it opened on June 12, 1897 in the basement of a building designed by the architect Puig i Cadafalch, on the street Montsió 3a and once was intended to bring to Barcelona the most bohemian Parisian atmosphere. Place of worship of intellectuals and artists of the time, it was the first refuge of inspiration for Pablo Picasso. In 2008, it was chosen by Woody Allen to host one of the main scenes in its film 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona', dedicated to the city. All this cultural and historic experience comes with exceptional gastronomy. All the dishes are prepared with proximity products and cooked with all the care and passion by our chef. Whitout any doubt, 4 Gats is a unique experience in Barcelona.
