4 Gats is a really busy place. Some say one should book a table to make sure he find a place. We were lucky to come just before the lunch time in Barcelona (14:00) and find easily a nice table. Food is good, service is quick and the atmosphere is cosy. They have 3 course menus every day for 19€... More

We had a nice enough meal in the evening. A live guitarist was playing, which added to the overall atmosphere. The wrong entrée was brought to us, the staff did offer to bring the correct one, but we did not want to wait. I am certain you could find better values, but as long as you realize you are going... We had booked this restaurant several days in advance as it had been recommended by friends for our trip to Barcelona. The building and atmosphere are lovely, and the restaurant is easy to find. We had an early evening booking. There were plenty of tables available when we arrived so we were very surprised and disappointed to be initially shown... More

The food was flavorless and overpriced. Hidden table fee 3 € per person. Two pieces of bread costed 6 €. There are a lot of good restaurants in the area. Just don't go to this place!!!

If a restaurant is famous for someone who visited it and not the food, some warning bells chime. But as most other tourists this might be the only time you will be in Barcelona so why not? Anyway, everyone in the restaurant who has not yet been served their main course looks happy and excited. I have to admit here... More

I wanted to go because of this restaurant's history, and also because I like anything that has to do with cats, even if it's just the name. My boyfriend and I went for breakfast/brunch and ordered the tomato bread, patatas, and avocado salad with salmon. Everything was good, but not as delicious as most of the food we ate while... More

The food was terrible! We ordered 3 dishes and all were really bad. Ceviche which was with no taste other then lime... a lot of lime.... I have had many ceviches before, and this one has been the worst. Had to order salt to give it a little taste to balance the overloaded lime. Then we ordered a typical dish... More

The restaurant was recommended by friends and, perhaps lunch is better than dinner. Regardless, our reservation was in order and we were seated in a lovely, larger hall where Picasso had his showing in the early 1900s. For 80Euro we had a shared appetizer (rock mussels...about 12...with artichokes and a good sauce but only TWO pieces of bread!), a bottle... More

We visited this restaurant with my family during a short vacation in Barcelona. The place is nicely decorated, with funny images and paintings on the wall. The atmosphere sort of twenties-thirties of the last century - casual and undisturbing. During weekend lunchtime it was full of tourists and the staff seemed very busy. Following a strong recommendation of the manager,... More

My wife and I had a spectacular lunch at 4 Gats, so much so that we made reservations for the following night for dinner with our son who is studying in Barcelona. We asked if by chance if they had an appitizer we enjoyed at lunch, told that it wasn't on the dinner menu but not to fear they would... More

Landmark of the city of Barcelona and Catalan modernism, it opened on June 12, 1897 in the basement of a building designed by the architect Puig i Cadafalch, on the street Montsió 3a and once was intended to bring to Barcelona the most bohemian Parisian atmosphere. Place of worship of intellectuals and artists of the time, it was the first refuge of inspiration for Pablo Picasso. In 2008, it was chosen by Woody Allen to host one of the main scenes in its film 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona', dedicated to the city. All this cultural and historic experience comes with exceptional gastronomy. All the dishes are prepared with proximity products and cooked with all the care and passion by our chef. Whitout any doubt, 4 Gats is a unique experience in Barcelona.
