This is not on the Main Street but they get their fish fresh from the market. It is a family affair, small brightly lite, good seafood, throw your expectations out the door and be the only english speaking people in the place. Service is fast. This is not a commercial place, go with the the flow.

We were drawn to Can Mano whilst walking through Barceloneta and browsing the Rough guide. We were attracted by the idea of "rarely a tourist in sight." This wasn't entirely true but given it's high ranking in the Rough Guide the cafe remained unspoilt and with the majority of customers being locals. We arrive about 2pm on a Saturday and... More

Value for money place with great service and local seafood. We had prawns, anchovis, octopus and calamaris, grilled artichokes. The bill was reasonable ca.50 euro for 4 people. Definetely recommend for all seafood locers!!!

Very simple and basic place that serves the best, freshest fish & seafood in the world in my opinion. Come early as they don't take bookings and the queue can be very long. If you have to wait, put your name down on the waiting list and order some drinks that you can sip in the street until a table... More

Found this place on trip advisor and fell in love with it. Local food, fresh fish and a lovely atmosphere. Its a small place and it gets packed so either come early or make reservations.

We found this little gem in a guide book. As our hotel was just down the road we decided to give this a go. The restaurant is hidden in a side street. When we arrived a number of people already queued outside. We waited about 20 Minutes before getting a little table in the rear room. It certainly was a... More

This is my third visit to Can Mano - we come everytime we are in Barcelona, and the food is exquisitely simple and delicious. The grilled cuttlefish is out of this world. Everything seems to be cooked very simply - just oil, salt and I think parseley. This is by far my favourite restaurant in Barcelona. Service is very friendly.

Very basic inside - absolutely no frills here! Ordered a variety of meals - hake, squid, sardines, mackerel, chips, artichoke and peppers. Bottles of Estrella went down well with the fish! Polished off every tasty morsel and waddled off into the distance! Not fine dining but very very tasty! Yum!

1st of all this place is not fine dining! The decor is dated and nothing in there is fancy! But if you want a real authentic experience of food in Barcelona this is a cool place. It was full of locals and we were the only tourists in there, it wasnt hard to get a table and we were served... More

You often have to wait outside for a table, and for a reason: the food is very good and the atmosphere is as local as you can get with musicians coming in to play and tables so close together that you not taking to the people next to you takes effort. We went with our 2 year old, he enjoyed... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
