Visited with a large group and despite being busy were able to seat us all together outside. I was pretty uninspired by the menu as a vegetarian so as to just have scrambled eggs with some bread (which the waitress had to ask the chef if he could make on its own). It was very well cooked but nothing to... More

Picnic is a great place to go, especially if you are craving an American style brunch. It is very packed, so either make a reservation or get there early to ensure that you have a table, especially if you have 4 or more people. The french toast was amazing, as were the quinoa hash browns. However, I was a little... More

I like having brunch every Sunday. This time I choose Picnic because I read many reviews and saw beautiful pictures!! I was amused. Looking delicious!!! We ordered pancakes with strawberries and eggs Benedicts for 2 people. Pancakes like a sponge, very sticky and puffy. Eggs should not be served as a cold dish. Not my fav... but OK!

We did not book in advance, so we had to wait longer. Totally understood!. The waiting list was bit chaotic but still normal for a Sunday (the waitress kindly apologized a few times and made it clear in the end). However, the organization when serving the food and the manners of two of the waiters whenever we ordered something additional... More

This place is great for weekend brunch. Expect to have to stand in line (in our case only for 5 minutes), or make sure you make a reservation in advance. Nice breakfast / brunch menu with French toast, omelets, and nice fresh juices that come in big quantities. The place is rather expensive for Barcelona standards, but still worth it.

Today, I have gone with my colleagues to have a brunch. Although we went without any reservation, we had to wait a lot for asking a table. In our turn to get the reservation, the waitress discriminated us, and instead, she took the order of other people outside the line, just because they spoke in another language. Then, another waitress... More

Cool vibe and decor. The quinoa croquettes are to die for. So good. I had the salmon on sourdough (too salty) and my companion had huevos rancheros which were alright. They rip you off on the soft drinks, charging full price for a half size so you buy more. Service was not bad. Friendly but not fantastic. I gotta say... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
