We decided to stop in Cullera de Boix for breakfast. We shared a truita de patata, a croissante, fresh squeezed orange juice, and cortado. The food was excellent, the ambiance relaxing, the server personable and professional, the location of the restaurant very convenient, and the...More

We came for a paella lunch on a warm Friday afternoon. The place was dead. That's fine by me. We had great service, but some others in my group complained of a little rudeness. I ordered calamari, octopus, and the paella. My octopus was so...More

Worst place we ate in Barcelona. Service was terrible, sat at outside tables but had to go into the bar more than once to order etc. Ordered tapas and wish we hadn't bothered - took around 45 mins to come and wasn't very good when...More

Stopped here really hungry. No frills but 2 large beers and a mixed plate of tapas really hit the spot. Friendly waiters made it.

Stopped off here for lunch with the lovely Ursula. Very handy sidewalk pit stop. Had a crunchy hot sandwich with local cheese and ham and herself had a courgette and cheese tart. Fast service and less than a tenner in total, can't go wrong!

This restaurant was nearly empty most of the evening and soon it became clear why. Typical ' microwave food' was served. The chocolate coulant was cold as a stone. This place needs restyling and more focus

We had a very good, tasty and at a fair price menu of the day. We liked that the wine included was bottled wine. We say that the sacher cake for dessert was divine :)

Saturday lunch. We headed to this restaurante because we had a reference from this place, due to its Meal of the Day (only valid for weekdays, of course). Nevertheless, we gave it a try. What a mistake: 1) We were the only two tables by...More

Hello PGRTraveller, Ee appreciate your comment, and as we talked through Facebook, we regret what happened and we're trying to improve day by day. Even so, in Facebook you commented that thi happened in our Plaça Catalunya restaurant, not in Urquinaona (this one), could you...More

For ordering or being served the service is too slow, and not very friendly. The restaurant inside looks different as the terrace, maybe the food is better than service outside.

Hello Barbie M, Thanks for commenting on us, and let us know your experience. We'll do our best to improve in these aspects and be better. Best regards,

Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you
enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally
translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes
recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant
atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district,
Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end
international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the
glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best

Cullera de Boix restaurant in Barcelona near the Plaça Catalunya and in Plaça Urquinaona offers fresh, inspired Catalan cuisine in modern surroundings. On the main floor you’ll find a buzzing bar with light, bright décor and very groovy typeface-inspired design, while the dining room carries on the themes of wooden floors, pale walls, dangling lights in hot Iberian colours, and cool seating. Chef Matarrodona – a graduate of the Jean-Luc Figueres kitchen – is inspired by rice and noodle dishes, offering a menu that changes frequently to reflect the seasons. Consider mushroom risotto with idiazabal cheese, black rice with cuttlefish and prawns or risotto with fish and seafood. Main courses feature both land and sea creatures in inventive presentations and the wine list tempts you with more than 200 bottles to try.
