Last night of our trip we wanted to have PAELLA. Cheriff is authentic and a must. The Paella was amazing. Our clams were delicious. The service amazing. If you want a to dine in a authentic place go here!

Great place with good Spanish seafood. Decor is a little rustic but the attentive service outweighs it all.

Great for an intimate evening out for friends or couples. We were a group of three friends and really enjoyed the dinner (my first dinner out in Barcelona). The staff were helpful in recommending portions - ended up having a paella and another dish. House wine was good quality and reasonably priced.

We visited Cheriff last night, as we had heard that they had a good reputation for Seafood and paella. Staff were quirky bit friendly and service pretty good. Unfortunately the paella was not the best. Salty and rather bland though the shellfish in it were good. We have had much better tastier paella in Spain in the past.

Loved the paella eating experience at Cheriff. There is some debate about whether this is the best paella in Barcelona. Who cares? It was delicious. The restaurant is tucked into a neighborhood and we sat outside and watched neighborhood people go about their day. None of the waitstaff spoke English. All the better. They were very professional and the food... More

We had to wait standing 45 minutes for a table. The paella was not served at the table, which is an importante part of the experience. But the resto has a lovely history and charm.

We had dinner with some friends in Cheriff two days ago, and we had an excellent seafood paella. The waiter was extremely kind with the children, and the elder loved the paella for dinner.

We visited with a friend from Barcelona. This is one of his favorite spots, and we could see why. We ordered the restaurants speciality, paella with lobster. There are three kinds available (spiny, Canadian, and local), which varied in price quite a bit. Our friend felt that the taste of each was similar, we ordered the least expensive. It was... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
