Fine dine ambience with good food and pocket friendly prices

Was recommended by the hotel we were staying in... Exceeded my expectations I had the punjabi chicken curry and it was undoubtedly one of the best curries I have ever had (of course out of India).My husband had fish curry which tasted great too. I ordered one scoop of ice cream for my daughter, which was such a generous portion that all three of us shared it. In my daughters words ‘it’s the best ice cream in the whole world’ She is 3 but takes her ice cream very seriously. I got myself a mango dessert, which was out of this world! Two mains with sides (roti, rice), a glass of wine, beer, hot chocolate, coffee and two desserts costed us slightly above 50£ which I thought was very reasonable The staff, the location and the ambience is so lovely ... you must have at least one meal here when visiting Gibraltar

Best curry we have ever had

Until now my all time favourite curry place was the famous Bombay Brasserie in London but this place leaves it standing. Elegant surroundings, great drinks list and a wonderful a la carte menu served on beautiful dishes. Staff could not have been more attentive and friendly, the chef even came to our table to share some of his secrets with us when we sent him our compliments. Highly recommended.

This is the second time we have ordered from Little Bay and both times it has been excellent. The only downside is it is on the pricey side if you are getting it as a takeaway (approx £60 if you were to get 2 x starters, 2 x mains, 2 x rice, 2 x naan and 2 x poppadoms) but you get what you pay for in terms of taste. If you want to keep the price down, get 1 of each of the items listed above between 2 people and it is more than adequate.

Amazing food but such slow service!

Firstly I wanted to book a table for 2000 but due to the 2 dinner sittings they have (1830-2045 & 2100-close) I was told this was not possible and we could dine at 2100 instead. In hindsight I should have booked for 1900. We were seated at 2100 and waited 15 mins to order drinks and food. We were still waiting for our starters 40 mins later! Just as we were complaining to our server, the food arrived. The vegetarian sharing platter was lovely. However, I do hate it when a server starts to clear the table when I am still eating. She took my husbands plate away and stood there waiting whilst I finished my starter, then took the plate away as soon as I put my cutlery down! We then had to wait 30 mins for our main courses to arrive! The server clearly thought there was a problem as she kept looking at our table with a look of concern on her face. Despite the food being very nice, the waiting really took the shine off the experience. We saw others who were seated after us getting their food much quicker. Another really annoying thing was that the glass bin was positioned behind where we were sitting. Despite it being screened off, the noise every time somebody dropped a bottle into the bin was irritating so say the least. Please consider relocating this bin. I agree with other reviews about the food and the location/design of the restaurant, but it lets itself down with the very slow service. It was our first visit, and I don't think we will be rushing back any time soon.

Superb Restaraunt

Having just returned from Gibraltar we would like to share our experience with Little Bay, at the entrance of the Restaraunt safety comes first with hand sanitizer for customers, to protect customers and staff, all members of staff wear face coverings. After being seated, social distancing in place we were given the menu and offered drinks, cleanliness of Little Bay is top class, our meal was for our anniversary, the evening was made special by Kelly the manager, if you have a birthday, anniversary or special occasion Little Bay can and will make things that bit more special for you but please enquire beforehand as if they don’t know they wouldn’t be able to do anything. Food at Little Bay is superb/wonderful and plentiful, cooked by a team of fantastic chefs, during our meal, the head chef asked to meet us and personally show us what he had cooked, the meal was fantastic and he is a credit to himself and Little Bay. The team of chefs make wonderful meals to suit the customers tastes, the majority of meals are gluten free, this is specified on the menu. Cocktails made in Little Bay are works of art, drinking our own cocktails at the bar we watched in awe, along with another couple at the bar a different cocktail being made for a different customer, the care and art that went into the making of the cocktail was brilliant and the couple at the bar with us ( socially distanced) immediately ordered the same cocktail. The staff behind the bar are not just barmen, they are experts and artists in what they do, they are highly trained, professional and most of all friendly. Little Bay will also serve takeaway, the service you get for this is the same, friendly, professional and polite. We personally highly recommend Little Bay and if we could give them 10 stars we would, whether it’s just cocktails, a takeaway, lunch, evening meal or that special occasion meal, look no further,

Landed on Gibraltar and found an Indian restaurant

Landed on Gibraltar for journey onward to home after long long time at sea due to pandemic restrictions. Saw an Indian restaurant and was overjoyed to taste home food after long time and really enjoyed the pani puri (Haldiram), pudina tikka and super spicy achari chicken tikha with three monkey shoulders. I arrived there without booking (I wasn’t aware) but got the table till 2045, being a Mariner I’m very punctual of time but what just at 2035 a waitress came and removed the plate of delicious tikkas without asking me and saying your time is up, I couldn’t get the time to react. This is ridiculous, this is insulting the guest. Where is the core value of Indianness “आतिथि देवो बवह”. She spoiled my evening. my mood, my time, my taste. I’m very sorry that I’m complaining. Sorry guys the hospitality business is not done with arrogance. Try to change and respect your guest, they pay !!! I’m very sorry 😐

I have spoken with the server and she has said that most of the dishes were finished , however I feel maybe a little lack of communication from her was possibly the cause of this misunderstanding. You will see from our social media presence that we get rave reviews for both our food and service so I would like to think this was just a glitch. Best restaurant in Gibraltar

By far my favourite restaurant in Gibraltar!! Many struggle to deliver service, food and atmosphere to a high standart but at Little Bay they perfected all three. Me and my partner have been regulars for years and always feel excited to return, if for events, special occasions, or simply romantic dinner out. The manager Kelly always goes above and beyong to ensure that all her guests have the most unique and special experience. Big thank you to Little Bay and all their staff for making Gibraltar that bit more special to us. 😍😘❤

Absolutely smashing Indian food, wonderful venue and cheerful staff

Have visited this fantastic restaurant now three times, the first time for my 60th birthday party back in March, and each time we have been blown away by the wonderous food, cheerful staff and smart and elegant surroundings. Stand out dishes for us were definitely the Signature Sizzling Non Vegetarian Platter to share, honestly this dish is just beyond! Savoury Seekh minced lamb kebabs, melt in the mouth chicken tikka, big butterfly grilled ajwani prawns and the jewel in the crown, the salmon tikka. This salmon is absolutely dreamy! Our favourite main course is the Chicken Tikka Kurchan, again served sizzling to the table on a hot cast iron platter, the onions caramelising and the chicken tikka, velvety under its covering of a tomatoey thick sauce. Eat this and weep! Not too spicy, just nicely hot enough to keep things interesting! We always have this with their mushroom Tawa rice which is served with raita. Absolutely amazing! We live in central London and have been lucky to go to countless restaurants, including Indian, but the Little Bay in Ocean Village really shows them all how it’s done! We so look forward to dining here on our annual visit to Gibraltar!

Best Indian in Gibraltar

Having read the reviews of this place and not being able to get in one night because it was full, our expectations were high! So arriving early the following evening my wife and I were prepared for a potential let down. We needn’t have worried. From the moment we were greeted by Maria and Racheal we new we were in for a lovely experience. These well trained individuals then proceeded to guide us through their recommendations of food and wine that this restaurant has to offer, which was All superb. We later met Cliff (ask him about his name! Funny!) who makes Great cocktails and was happy to chat with us beyond the call of duty. This place is busy for a reason..... so make sure you book!

Best Indian food we've ever had!

I would highly recommend Little Bay, which was recommended to us by a local. The food is divine and authentic; it is fresh, clean, not greasy at all, great flavours. The menu is extensive and has great options for vegans, vegetarians and coeliacs. I'm vegan and my husband is lactose intolerant, the staff were really helpful and flexible, as well as being friendly and attentive.

Cannot recommend enough

My friend and I visited here on our first night in Gibraltar and had to return. The waiters are so attentive and helpful offering recommendations from the extensive menu - especially for vegans/vegetarians. The waiter Rosario (sorry if it’s misspelt) and his brother were so lovely we will definitely return next time we are here. Amazing food and wine.

Highly recommended - fantastic food

Visited here on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was fully booked, so we were glad we had made a prior reservation. It is located in Ocean Village which has lovely surroundings. The food was excellent - in particular, the fish pakora was exceptional. Really nice and hardworking employees. Will be visiting Gibraltar again in September and will make sure we visit here.

Not a good as last time in September 2021

We came here last September and had a brilliant meal so thought we must go again. The restaurant was absolutely rammed and we had to move table as we put near the door and cold wind came in every time a waiter or anyone went in or out but moved to a good table. Overall the food was good but not as good as last time and the service/recommended quantities wasn’t advised by the waiting staff. The starters were all covered in cream and not tasty but the tandoori lamb chops were good but the prawn curry was poor as very few prawns and too hot - I’m used to pungent food and requested medium spicy but wish I hadn’t as the over spiciness ruined the dish ! We were thrown a bit of a curve ball with our meal choices as the salmon starter had run out with no obvious alternatives or choices. Service was a bit poor overall and hurried and I felt we didn’t really get good value.

Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for your return visit and for taking time in leaving us your feedback. I’m sorry you’ve had reason to complain this time. I have checked with the team on duty that evening and apologise for our popular salmon running out. Though we have other fish dishes, we don’t have a fillet of fish that we can cook in the clay oven(will keep this in mind for our next menu update). That said, the three starters you ordered, have no cream at all on them so there’s no possibility of this having occurred. Maybe another dish you ordered, may have had cream as part of the recipe. Our chefs have been cooking these appetisers for years and cream has never been a part of the ingredients. Our kitchen is very flexible with the level of spice and had this been brought to our attention, this would have been rectified immediately. Our service n quality is reflected in our popularity across all social media’s and with our customers, however hope you will visit us again when you’re next in Gibraltar. Regards Bob

Must-Try Indian Tapas

We had our wedding night dinner here and from start to finish, the staff were so attentive, friendly, and really made our evening feel special. The table was decorated beautifully as well, we could tell that everyone had put a lot of thought into it. We were having a tough time deciding what to order because everything sounded delicious; fortunately, the restaurant manager (possibly the owner?) walked us through each dish and helped us decide. Our favourite was the Tandoori Achari chicken, which was a mouth-explosion of flavour, just perfectly balanced and tender. The Aloo Tikka (our 2nd favourite) was layered, hard to explain, but it felt like we could experience multiple flavours, savoury and sweet, one after another. We ordered a fried okra appetiser that didn’t even need sauce, they somehow managed to make the breading taste…zingy! Wizards, these chefs, I swear. All in all, my husband and I both agree; when we return to Gibraltar, it will be in large part because we are craving Little Bay. You must try it.

Best ever

Me and the wife visited Little Bay during our Hol to gib at start of June. We arrived about 8pm without booking, restaurant was very busy and I think we were lucky to get the last table available. We ordered the signature sizzling non veg sharing platter starter, tastes fantastic, main course was equally as good. Staff were very polite and attentive even though the place was full. The owner/manager took time to chat and ask how the food was, we explained that we have been using Indian restaurants for over 30yrs and Little Bay was probably the tastiest we have experienced. Absolutely delicious, will definitely visit again when back in gib.
