Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This used to be a really nice Irish Pub where my wife and I used to visit year after year a number of times per year. This time around it is hard to believe that the ownership of the pub has not changed. All bright...lights, highlighting really tired furniture, the stage where the live music used to be is gone. The pub has lost its soul.More

Not very authentically Spanish but we had heard good things about this bar, and we were not disappointed. We went on the night of the France v South Africa rugby world cup semi-final, so the place was jumping. Watching sport is a big thing in...this bar and there are screens everywhere. The food was excellent and the service was good, despite it being so busy (we got the last available table).More

Went to watch the first game of the football season. The pub was packed but they opened a back room for us which was nice. Good screens for sport. Food was average. It’s a typical Irish pub overseas so that’s not really a criticism. Service...was good.More

Came to the James Joyce to watch the All Ireland semi final in Gaelic football, Derry V Kerry. When we first arrived we were told the pub was at full capacity, as there was a tennis final on. When we finally got into the pub...they told us the GAA would be shown. We were extremely disappointed when the match was only on ONE television out of SEVEN. There was no sound, and we were all cramped up in one corner. Some people didn’t even have seats. The tennis was very loud and was given full consideration. We came to this Irish pub as we expected to see IRISH SPORT. I was also told that the tennis was a final… so WAS OURS!! Wimbledon I’m sure is on in a lot of other pubs and sports bars, but not GAA. Extremely disappointed…More

Even if you are visiting Spain, but maybe you want to eat other people's cuisine, this is a perfect place. Traditional Irish, but also Spanish food, very good beer, good wines, good prices... A very kind and polite staff. What's nice: there is a terrace...in the street overlooking the Cibeles Fountain. Because it is an open terrace, smoking is allowed here.More
