We had the must of churros and chocolate, but at this location we had a cup of the gourmet selection. One of us had the coffee bombón and it was unusual but delicious (a mix of espresso with condensed milk). The churros weren't as nice as in other places and the selection of hot chocolates was ok. The service was... More

Very good churros with hot chocolate. They are freshly made when you order it so they are warm and nice. A must do in Madrid!

The churros is bit oily but I like the hot chocolate. I visited 5 places looking for a great churro and hot chocolate, and this place serves the best hot chocolate. The service needs to be improved though.

The place is very nicely located and decorated. Unfortunately it is very loud and crowded. Churros is expensive but delicious though.

Went there a little after 8pm and place was pretty empty. Great, no line! Sat at the bar hoping to get some hot yummy churros. Churros came, but they weren't hot and tasted like they were cooked in old grease. Chocolate also tasted off. Two bites and the rest was left uneaten. So sad, cuz I really wanted to support... More

This is a chain type of cafe but don't let that scare you! The service is not great, it definitely seemed like our waiter was annoyed that we sat in his section. But don't let that bother you! Make sure to try the chocolate sampler! It's a great way to try a variety of chocolates and they even have a... More

They have the bizarre rule that if one of your friends is arriving late, even though there are plenty of empty chairs around - 5 free then, 1 empty at our table too - even 1 table available next to us, the latecomer is forced to seat by himself at the bar. I guess with that rule, they will always... More

This was not a bad service, this was a bizarre service,as they didn't know exactly what to say and what to do. With a little bit of training, this would get better. The mediterranean chocolate was tasty, the churros not so much. Not as hot as I expected and a bit oily. I won't say "don't go there!" but I'm sure that one... More

Fabulous Churros, great service, delicious hot chocolate which should be called hot chocolate pudding... the ambience is excellent... bustling, people, chocolate. Definately a thumbs up.

I had the worst customer service experience in Madrid here. Churros were really cold and oily, all you could taste was oil, chocolate dipping was also very cold and too thick. You need to be very careful with service staff here, they're really dodgy, they purposely over charged me and gave me the wrong bill. They thought I wouldn't check... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
