La Paella de la Reina lives up to its name. I was in a solo trip, and was referred here by the front desk of my hotel. It was a good call! The service was amazing, and the paella was phenomenal. This is a great place in Chueca, and close to just about everything! Highly recommend!

I had the best paella so far in this restaurant! Booking was quick and we were right away shuffled to our table. But the waitress seems not happy we ordered only one kind of paella (3portions) and an appetiser. Since we didnt finish our dinner the other night, we decided we shouldnt order a lot if cannot finish it. After... More

Paella is good. You can tell that the rice have fully absorbed the stock making it plump and delicious. However, it's minimum requirement for 2 pax is too much, unless you have got a VERY BIG appetite. For two person, the 2 pax tasted delicious at the start and as we go on, it got a little sickening. May be... More

Do not doubt it! Excellent paella and excellent service, hands down one of the best restaurants in Madrid. We did not get to try their desserts, but will look forward to it on our second visit.

Came here for the paella and it was pretty good. I liked the creaminess of the rice and the seafood was fresh and flavorful. Service was good, as well. Small and intimate restaurant for anyone who may or may not like that type of atmosphere.

We visited after being recommended by our hotel. We were not disappointed. This little family run business serves the most amazing paella... Also reasonably priced! Washed down with a yummy jug of sangria. They also provide a menu in English. Highly recommend!

The paella was very good and presented beautifully - we had the seafood special which had great shellfish, though the rice was a bit oily and slightly bland. We were the first to arrive on a Friday night though even when other tables filled up the the restaurant was quite quiet and lacked ambience and fun.

We went by our hotel recommendation and we weren't disappointed. It is right that you need to order paella for minimum of 2 to share but we didn't have a problem with that. The ingredients were fresh and rice cooked nicely, very flavoursome. Would definitely go back.

Thank Angie K

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
