A nice restaurant with a very good service. Dishes from the Spanish tradition but revised. Prices are correct for what you get (including welcome "drink and entrees").

This place was short metro ride from our central hotel & well worth the trip. Food was really special - a good mix of the familiar but with a twist. Anguillas to start were delicious, we had bacalao & cochinillo for mains - both simple yet spectacular. And the desserts were out of this world - the Expresión de pistachio... More

This place is everything i like, quiet with great personnel smilling and carrying. Food and wine are just perfect. Take the cheese cake for dessert. Just go and enjoy food there

We arrived late, underdressed and in a slightly bad mood, but the welcome was great and they really took care of us. They didn't mind that we wanted to order lots of little things (despite eagerly eyeing up the steaks that others were having). The service staff were wonderful and didn't randomly disappear for hours as they appear to do... More

I was a usual client of Hermanos Cosme, before it was remodelled and modernised. The dishes are original, the quality of the food is excellent and the service outstandind! I recommend this place and book beforehand, most of the times it is full

First night in Madrid and read the reviews so chose ths place. Food superb, although heavily sauced which can overpower some palates, combined with great staff and service with a genuine smile. If you feel less like a full sit down meal experience the Cosme Tapas Bar which adjoins is also great ( based upon our limited experience with a... More

I just got back from eating in one of the best restaurants I've been in Madrid. We ordered the 3 courses and all was incredibly good. We had first the croquetas and the octopus and they were amazing. For the main course the fish was divine and also the hamburger meat. For desert we ordered the cheese cake and a... More

I was reading the reviews at www.eltenedor.es, the spanish equivalent to open table, with regards to Cosme. All of madrilenos give Cosme high marks for quality of food and reasonable pricing. We made reservation for four on our 1st night in Madrid and were offered complimentary cocktails by the restaurant's mixologist and wine connoisseur. The cocktail was delicious, it had... More

The whole place has been modernised and the menu updated. As well as the original Tapas bar, there's also a very good restaurant. We had a lovely 3 course meal for ?11! The a la carte menu looked great, but we were there at lunchtime so didn't want too much food. Full of locals (quite upmarket, but chilled), I highly... More

I have eaten at Hermanos on numerous occasions now and every time the service and food is amazing. The atmosphere is very relaxed and we were seated immediately upon arrival. I had the pan fried steak as my main course and it was cooked exactly how I asked for it and it was delicious! Nicest steak I have had in... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
