We had great tapas and hamburguers. Awesome carrot dessert. Great service and very good prices. Will definitely come back a lot.

I went there once and had one of the best hamburgers; however, the service was not that good. First of all, I sat there and saw the waitress handling the menu to some people, but nothing for me. So, I stood up and asked for the hamburger. Also, I asked for the wifi password and she said she would write... More

Super little cafe just up from Reina Sofia. Friendly service and interesting food that's a little different from the usual tapas. I had pastela de pollo which came with honey and cinnamon - so delicious. Other half indulged in pumpkin soup and morcilla with goats cheese. Finished off with very un spanish Guinness cake and coffee. Several glasses of vino... More

Local cafe full of local people! Great vibe, friendly, noisy, and the food was great! Because they were so busy, one of our dishes was forgotten and then very slow when we finally chased it up, but they are equally forgiving if you want to sit and watch the world go by? Don't go if you're in a hurry, but... More

Small café with home style food from different parts of the world, including some traditional tapas, burgers and other. Service somehow slow but worth the waiting.

Stumbled across this lovely cafe when walking around Madrid on a hen party! Homemade salads and pasta, lovely and fresh. Good price. Sangria was delicious. Great service very welcoming staff especially to a group of ten girls with about 3 Spanish words between us!

Found it walking through the streets of Madrid. The food was excellent, they had some cool unexpected choices. The staff was really nice and the music playing just created an awesome environment to have lunch.

We popped in here for a late night dessert with our boys. The service was good and the cake was tasty. Prices were a little more than other places locally.

Neighbourhood Profile
Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a different country ... except it's hard to tell which one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in traditional African clothing convene outside their businesses for long chats, and people shout to each other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and dance studios, and two large arts and cultural centers — the beautiful Casa Encendida and the Tabacalera, a former tobacco factory — all of which attract young crowds. Along Calle Argumosa, the place to go for drinks, artists and art appreciators with piercings and dreadlocks convene in the street’s eclectic array of young, hip bars. Though some of the side streets can get a little seedy at night, Lavapiés is still the place to go for those seeking a unique blend of arts and culture in an international and funky neighbourhood.
