We had eaten dinner there a few years ago, and when we returned to Madrid, we stopped in for lunch. The food was good, however I was disappointed in the service, it was slow, and our waiter somewhat abrupt. He also brought out a basket with 2 pieces of bread that we did not order, or eat. We were surprised... More

Started the day here with coffees and toast with tomato, particularly their breakfast deal. Pleasant and attentive service in a spacious restaurant. 6.45€ for the three of us.

A café atmosphere with TV in both eating areas. 2 free tapas, very nice. Lovely service, but dull paella..we had the meat one, perhaps we should have had the seafood one. It's often full so I imagine other dishes are better. Cheap

Had a meal here around 8pm and expected the place to be full based on previous review but we were only ones eating at a table. The menu is in Spanish only and although one of the waitresses spoke reasonable English, it was still difficult for us to make a selection. The paella tapa provided to start with was partcularly... We walked by this seafood restaurant at C/Ferraz, 44 Madrid on our way to church around 16:00 just to see a totally packed place. We tried to stop on the way home from mass but they close from 16:00 to 20:00 when they start serving dinner. We were the only couple in the place until 19:00 when the flood gate... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
