It has been the first restaurant in Madrid and I can say that it has been my worst experience in a restaurant. We have been welcomed in a really bad way, ok it was a little bit busy so you don't bother about it. The waiter gave us the menu after 15 minutes we seated and we had to call... More

Friendly bar/restaurant just outside our hotel. Had a couple of end of night beers here served by friendly staff & talking to friendly locals. Had a enjoyable breakfast the following morning. Gracias por tu hospitalidad de Nottingham

During our visit to Madrid this little gem was just across the road from the hotel and served great breakfast half the price of the hotel price so we went here three days in a row. The food is lovely and tasty and not expensive for Madrid. Staff are fantastic and very lovely. The owner a lovely older lady who... More

I recently visited this establishment with some friends for lunch. We were seated quickly and at a table in the sun which we requested. We ordered 2 dishes to share as they were expensive for a lunch time snack. When our first dish arrived a homeless lady walked by our table and started to eat off of the table next... More

I recently visited this restaurant and found the servers extremely rude and the food very over priced for the quality of food prepared. I will definitely not return

Anna Coretta was a wonderful help. The food was good and the ambiance was great. Excellent view of street and activities. Close to Santa Domingo plaza.

This is a good place to come for breakfast. The portions are large , the service efficient and the coffee good. You might want to share a meal rather than order one each as nobody could finish one on their own

Stopped by here for two small beers. They were served with a small tapa but nothing to write home about. The waiter was dismissive when we ordered and especially so when we asked for the bill after 'only' 2 beers. The bill came €6 !!! Making this place the most expensive bar we stopped at all holiday including more touristy... More

We went in for lunch having just arrived in Madrid, the set lunch was cheap as our total bill for 3 was under 30 Euro but it wasn't high quality.

Set on a corner, we sat just inside in the first bar area to escape the heat but still with the sun. Had a set menu of three courses, lovely gazpacho and the mains were really good too. Even treated ourselves to cake afterwards. We had two large beers and coffees also and it cost €25. Compare this to any... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
