I live in Chicago although I am originally from Spain. I had lunch last week with a group of friends from Chicago and a local friend at Gregorio III. It was an amazing experience. We loved every single thing, from the rabbit and salads to the snails as well as the amazing selection of wines and of course, the desserts,... More

I asked at the hotel could they recommend somewhere to have Rabbit and this is where they suggested. The food was average but the service terrible and very unfriendly, To top it all off the price of 87 Euros for 2 set meals was very expensive for the quality and quantity. According to the menu wine was included for the... More

A modest local bodega serving authentic food and tapas, with friendly service and a purely Spanish clientele. Best dish was the sardines, of course! Excellent wine list.

This place was packed with locals at the bar area and we were seated in a separate room where we're the only customers. Tapas are all around 10 euro. Not so sure if prices are higher on English menu. We're served with dish that we didn't order and there's egg shell in the salad. Not a pleasant dining experience. Besides... More

The place is located half a block away from Calle Mayor, right in the middle of the action in Madrid. They serve the house wine from the traditional square bottles that were used by all restaurants years ago. This is bulk wine and is terrific. The tapas are good and generous and the service friendly and professional. Try the croquetas... More

This is the most enjoyable meal of rabbit I have had for many a year. Crispy skin, full of flavour and tender and plenty of it. Pleasant surroundings, quiet atmosphere, waiter very attentive.

I can't believe the previous review about the rabbit. We went in because we saw it on the menu and only read the review in TA afterwards. We had the rabbit with garlic as is tradition (not tomato) and it was sensational. Only 22Euro for 2 persons!! Tender, succulent and the raosted garlic with oil was soaked up with the... More

We tried the tomato rabbit, it seems to be the most famous dish here, but it's not very delicious. Maybe you can try something else

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
