Food was good, ordered a second round of drinks that never arrived, service was bad even when the place was not that crowded. Many other places you could have nicer meals in Madrid.

I stopped here for a refreshment after my walk around Retiro Park. It is a lovely little find and really popular. Modern - fresh - friendly staff and super coffee and food. Well worth a break whilst out and about especially after a walk around the neighbouring and amazing Retiro Park.

The bagel is the size of an inch, but at the end you are more than happy it is so small... fries were almost crude, and on the top of that the waiter not even nice. Poison food and toxic waiter.

The food was beautiful and tasted pretty good but service was super slow. I went for lunch and returned later in evening craving a sweet. Service was slow at lunch, they were not busy and in evening, the gal behind counter was pretty unpleasant. Advise not to get their ice cream. I got one tiny scoop, didn't remoteltey fill the... Since Puerta de Alcala is an area known for its great range of surrounding cafés, tea rooms and bakeries, I have many a time wanted to try this place out but ended up somewhere else instead. From Harina to Vailima, Moulin Chocolat, Cappuccino, La Mejor Tarta de Chocolate del Mundo, Sucré, Fonty, and many more, trying out all the desserts... More

Walked in for a quick bite on the way to the retiro park and was surprised to find cronuts. Hubby and I bought a passionfruit cronut and loved it so much that we walked back to the cafe to buy their chocolate covered one. Layered perfectly with creme of chocolate and also glazed in it, gosh it was to die... More

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
